I was looking around for some rumors on DA3 and I eventually ended up on Wiki. I know it's not the most reliable source but a few things caught my eye. The way wiki worded it, they implied it was confirmed...

Combat is also expected to differ somewhat from its predecessors and
focus more on a player's ability to prepare, position and form a
cohesive team with his or her party members, requiring fewer repetitive
finger strikes but better thinking.

It has been confirmed by David Gaider that the Game will feature
"multiplayer in some form." It is not known yet what the Multiplayer
element will be.

Along with the larger size of the game map, the player will be able to travel to countries such as Tevinter to calm or encourage the fighting.

None of this has been confirmed or even implied, right? Seeing that about Tevinter Imperium got me excited...

And I think the way a lot of people would like it to be done is "not at all".

Yet Mike and Mark have already said it will happen, in some form. So if what someone wants is "no multiplayer component at all", then they are categorically not getting what they want. Time to move on.

I remember david saying multiplayer could show up in some form, in a thread dedicated to its eradication. Edit: ^ That's the one.

A lot of that was surmised but not confirmed at a convention like a year ago when they first started to hint at the next game. I remember seeing some of it. That's when they first talked about the new companion equipment system, about the game being more tactical, and the map spanning several provinces rather than one tiny insignificant city. That stuff about the combat sounds like how they were talking about the DA2 DLC. I think it all gets jumbled up.

So in other words, take it with a grain of salt because it likely already changed in development...:crying:

I liked the sound of the combat in theory and getting to explore TI. I really want to visit TI and see their society.

The larger size of the map is from ( I think; scanned through quick and didn't see it immediately) the PAX East panel. Mike Laidlaw's presentation showed the big Thedas map with a big red circle around the countries they wanted to show us. Dunno about them mentioning fighting in Tevinter, but I believe Tevinter was within the circle.

All that has been confirmed about DA3 is that it is being made, that its name will be Dragon Age III: Inquisition and that the developers are going to use the Frostbite 2 engine to build the game. That's all we know for sure at this point. Everything is mostly speculation and rumor.

We also know that you won't play as either the Warden or Hawke, and that the voiced PC and Dialog Wheel are both making a comeback.

Use the reference links at the end of those sentences on the wiki to find out where those people got the implications from. Atleast I think thats how it works.

Keep in mind, in that thread Mr. Gaider was talking about a "multiplayer component" like the one in Origins where you can log in and share your info via the game.  He is not (necessarily) talking about co-op or pvp multiplayer.

That doesn't mean one of those won't exist, but just be aware he wasn't guaranteeing you'll be able to PLAY DA3 with your friends directly.

this is from about a year ago, before the game was announced -- but if the team wasn't quite sure about it, I'm willing to bet they wouldn't have put it out there. "Show, not tell." was already in effect at the time.  Posted Image

Feel free to share that all over the BSN - I feel like a broken record: "We're not just going to Orlais. We're not just going to Orlais..."

Guys, EA put out a mandate right after ME2 came out that "ALL EA GAMES MUST HAVE MULTIPLAYER GOING FORWARDS!" bioware has no choice. The king from on high has decreed that we want multiplayer if we know it or not.

EA totally doesn't meddle with the games of their owned subsidaries? Pfft.
