He was just misunderstood. He is actual hero and overall good person of Mass Effect series. And he is very polite, and shy.AresKeith wrote...

It was long time since i was away from forums and ME3 in any form, but i just got in and wanted to ask, do people still hate the endings? It may sound silly but endings made game unplayable for me, atleast the single-player mode, MP got me hooked for few weeks. But still i was really disappointed after first two games, loved them. So back to main question again, do people still hate endings as much as they did back in few weeks after launch, did EC reduce the hate or everyone just live with it and move on?
I still dislike anything related to the Catalyst. That ill-thought out character single-handedly caused all the trouble and yelling and free DLC and theories that have plagued BioWare since the game's release.
Well, actually since the demo since that's when the script leaked and those who read the leaks were already complaining about the ending.

When you'll be hit with green space magic, you will know a lot more about Harbringer.AresKeith wrote...

The thing is, the ending was so bad, it opened the floodgates for hate towards the rest of the game.

I kinda find it hard to forget that the final boss of the epic space opera was a programing error that talked our character into committing suicide.

Whoever had this great idea of ending a game with a improbability machine (crucible) should get fired, hired and fired again

Probably the most accurate diagnosis out there, complete with the vomitcon.
Also explains why replaying ME3 feels like assiting Shepard's suicide. :|

WIN!
I would have like to have the Blue Screen of death for a programing error over talking to the catalyst.

I like nothing about the endings at all, but I'm not passionate enough to hate anymore.

Basically, Mass Effect went from a shining example of how storytelling should be done in games, to a bad punchline.

This, combined with Iakus's statement that the series message goes from "you can knock fate on its ass and beat the odds" to "you can only win if they let you, and even then you'll die anyway" -- are probably, as a couple, the best descriptions I've seen.Krimzie wrote...

This is gold.
The catalyst was actually the vault dweller from Fallout with a high level in Charm.

I'm pretty sure that's the biggest no-no in story telling.

The EC made things better for me, to the point where I could play through the game again, but now I just tend to quit the game after the last battle in London.
There are still too many unanswered questions and plot holes, and starbrat is still a terrible idea. Not least because on a second playthrough it totally nullifies what for me was one of the most moving cutscenes in the game - right at the start where the refugee shuttles are blown up and the kid dies. First playthrough that was heartbreaking, 2nd playthrough - meh, since the kid wasn't even real.
What do you know, turns out I do still care a bit...

Yes. To the point where I uninstalled the entire trilogy.
I can't talk to EDI or Legion anymore without feeling guilty about what's in store.
I can't romance anyone, because it will all end in tears.
I can't pretend to be an honorable hero, because I will inevitably have to do something awful to the galaxy, whatever my choices.
Forced tragedy, forced sacrifice, pointless death, it sullied an entire trilogy. And yes, there isn't even a reunion to take the edge off.
THIS A THOUSAND TIMES THIS
When Extended Cut was first announced I got a little happy but that went back into the crapper when they announced they will not change the endings
fastforward to Extended Cut being released..
I got it installed in my PS3 I'm hovering over Load Game & I fall back into a bitter depression
I had to sell the game within the next hour because I had no interest in reopening those wounds
I won't even bother buying ME1 on PS3 because the first thought that came to my head was "What's the point? the third game practically retcons it"
what frustrates me is how gaming "journalist" call folks like me "Entilted Whiners" because the game doesn't have a happy ending for us or that it's TOO DEEP FOR US

My problem is I have played Skyrim and Witcher 2 SO MUCH as medication for my ME3 disappointment that I am also bored with them. I need a new RPG.
I tried to restart a DA2 playthrough but it is such a chore that I just stop 2 hours in. Every time.

I can pick anyone of those words to describe how I feel about everything to do with Priority: London and the endings. We reached the crescendo of our space opera and we were anticipating a exhilarating ending, and all we got was a serious flat note that they expected us to applaud.
Mass Effect went from an enjoyable Space Opera to pantomime farce in under an hour of game play. Hate is too soft a word to use for something so many people had high expectations for.
