To be honest.......I haven't played Mass3 since my first play though......I was pretty disgusted with the ending,it seemed sloppy,half arsed and made every thing in previous games seem pointless....the EC came along and patched thing's up a bit but the damage had been done.

I don't feel hate...I feel disappointment and frustration....... Mass3 was an easy concept to deliver......no one had ever beaten the reapers because no one had ever united the universe to fight them........that's why the Protheans failed.......that's the whole point of Shepard,he united the races..........all Bioware had to do is deliver this idea,instead we have these crazy endings that change the universe making any follow on game in the franchise almost impossible...........it feels like the last 10 minutes of Mass3 just goes into self destruct mode.

It pretty much is. Two DLC's have reinforced the horrible ideas that have done the damage. Undoing it is well beyond them now.

Whatever Bioware says, the game feels rushed.

The endings are part of that. I mean, as I understand it, by December 2011, Martin Sheen hadn't even done his lines yet because they didn't have the ending nailed down. If they had more time to make ME3, I can't help but think that perhaps they would have come up with an ending sooner in the process, and it sure as d*mn well would have ended up being discussed.

The endings are only part, though. Auto dialouge, an uneven level of quality among the Priority missions, the substitution of "scan and grab" quests for real side missions that you can discover on your own, a lack of attention to a bunch of minor details that slowly add up throughout the game (Turian blood is red now? What?). All of them combine with the endings to give Mass Effect a rushed feel.

The endings weren't just the straw that broke the camel's back, though. They were the massive, 747 that crashed on top of the camel, smearing it into a fine red paste.

I was saddened and confused by, but did not hate the original ending. The hate, anger, and depression started after the EC.

yeah a they still suck to some player, the EC fixed the endings for some, others it infuriated, i believe their were references to it being a polished turd with the EC, and look the fire spread already, how nice.

I wasn't happy with the endings, but the EC made it better for me. I'm a rare case in that I actually really like the game as a whole. Sure it feels rushed, but there were some pretty memorable battles and scenes in there. I personally can overlook the issues I have with it, as I like the trilogy a lot. Prob one of my favorite series. I just can't bring myself to be bitter about it anymore. Nothing that can be done now. May as well find the good in it and focus on that. For me personally, there's a lot fo love about ME3 and the entire series. I even loved part 2.

for me a total victory ending would be simple and enough, but we wont get that. also,for few months i really believed that BW cares and listens to fans and will redeem themselves. You know, like original endings were just PR troll to tease us, the fans, and then BAM BAM perfect stuff. But instead they did everything half-way, leaving the important half deep down somewhere. And now i heard about new ME game? Thats just sad. Generally speaking, major hype before ME3 brought us a huge fail.

p.s. all this sounds like a huge QQ over "nothing", a video game, but cmon ppl, ME series was really big deal, one of those ultra rare universes that got me in a perfect way.

I'd say the community is more split now than before. Originally I'd say 80-90% of the fanbase hated the endings, but now its closer to 50/50. Plus the people who REALLY hated the endings lost most of the steam for it and just left. They moved on like most gamers/readers/fans in general do when a series they love lets them down- they move on and just hope it dies. Of course that doesn't always work... (Sonic why won't you just die??!) But it's what usually happens.

This especially if nothing else.  For the most part, I set the bar really low as to what I want for a bare minimum.  I think someone at Bioware needs a new dictionary, because the EC was supposed to be about closure and not "you guess the ending".

Well, that is also true of a lot of people that said they were ok with the endings with the EC-many said they were now done with ME because it had more of an ending, but not a good one.  They didn't hate it, but hated what BW did to the game and the endings, especially.

I'd say the real question is how many are here that really love the endings?  I've never ever felt or seen that people just truly love them.  Most often people have said they're better, but not what they hoped for as endings to ME.
