The DA Question thread.

So I'll start.
Messere Gaider -- or any other aficionado -- can you answer a question I currently have?
1) What are the Fex? They were only mentioned one time, and no information was given on them. So perhaps we could get a little bit more information on them?
I might think of more later.

To add to that, why is "raw lyrium" always red when we pick it up as a crafting reagent in DAII? If that was intentional, what did you guys mean by it?

Next questions of mine:
Will we get a masquerade ball to dance at with our LI in DA3?
What did Andraste cry about on Sundermount?
What are the "questionable things" Kal-Sharok has been forced to do to survive? I can only guess it's cannibalism due to them not having a surface route, but... I dunno... just doesn't really seem like that'd be it.

Yes, Sten will wage war on all of Thedas until he acquires the recipe for the greatest thing ever. The lack of cookies in Seheron/Par Vollen after he's tasted them is maddening.
Many fat, slovenly children have been robbed of their confections lately.
It was for their own good. And he's desperately trying to keep his supply in check.

It's science, people.
City Elven bakers will suddenly become the most influential artisans in all of Thedas. True story.
And they will have their revenge. Ohhh yes.

Can non-mages learn blood magic? Mage phylacteries and the Joining ceremony of the Grey Wardens certainly look like blood magic, but can be used by anyone who knows how...
Phylacteries, the Warden Joining, and the Reaver Joining are all indeed blood magic. The first was confirmed by David Gaider himself in the past, and the latter two are both forms of blood magic because of what's involved in their creation and the changes that occur afterwards.

That was answered in Origins. The Mages are branded with lyrium, but first the Templars must receive authorization from both the First Enchanter and the Knight-Commander of a Circle.

Judging by what happened to her, I'd say it fused to the very grounds of the Gallows Courtyard so as to serve as a brutal testament to the RoA that happened there, even if the circumstances surrounding the RoA were forgotten/remained a mystery.

Let's not forget that one does not need to be a mage to use magic, anymore than one needs to be an engineer to use a car. Caridan, a dwarven Paragon (who would have no physical way of being a mage) definitely used magic to create the Anvil of the Void and the army of golems from it.

Well... I'd dispute that he created the Anvil. Either that was a natural formation or it's something left over from the Primeval Thaig that existed near Orzammar, for two reasons in particular:
1) There are Golems in the Primeval Thaig. Not just outside of it -- where you only fight one -- but actually inside the Thaig itself, after you're trapped. That leads me to believe the PT Dwarves had some method of creating Golems, strengthened by...
2) ...the fact that red lyrium is able to create makeshift Golems, bypassing the requirement for a life to give life to the Golem -- or quite possibly going all Philospher's Stone (FMA:Brotherhood) on it.

What is the difference between, and meaning of, ser, serah and messere?
I think I can answer that one. Ser is a title given to knights but can be used in respectful adress. Serah seems to be used only in the Free Marches and is a term of adress for one considered to be of a lower social rank than oneself. Messere again seems excusive to the Marches and is a term of adress for one who is considered higher in rank than oneself, or among nobles or equal standing.

Did that one guy ever stop kicking the wall????
Despite repeatedly being thrown out by the Kirkwall City Guard, he continued his wall-kicking rampage. He snuck into the keep in the dead of night, kicking walls in the throne room, the Viscount's chambers, and even the barracks themselves.
He was tried before a magistrate for several counts of abuse of city property, resisting the guard, and mind-numbing beligerence. He was nearly acquitted, but he kicked the magistrate's box just before the verdict. Sentenced to five years in prison, he continued kicking walls in his cell until he finally suffered a severe toe injury which put an end to his crime spree.
