To the best of my knowledge, DotS takes place between 9:34 and 9:37 Dragon, and the end of the movie hints that Cassandra may have been investigating Kirkwall for a while even before she was asked to find Hawke.

It takes place around the time when Perrin Threnhold held office. The events in Kirkwall referenced in the movie are referring to the issues that arose between Viscount Threnhold and the Templars.

Well, if it happened near Perrin, it would be post 9:21 and the Divine is named as Justinia V on the official Dawn of the Seeker site, so that doesn't fit until 9:34 at the earliest. It would also make Cassandra in her late 30's by the end of DA2.

They were merely just referring to events during Perrin Threnhold's time, not that DotS takes place during his time as viscount.  I could be wrong though, it's been a while since I've seen the movie.

Unfortunately, we don't know who exactly the Divine was in DotS, which would give us a better idea.  Given that she hands Cassandra the Seeker book that appears in DAII, one could say that it was Justinia V, if we were to presume that it was Justinia who ordered Cassandra to investigate Kirkwall and Hawke.  If it was Divine Justinia in DotS, the earliest the movie could have taken place is 9:34 Dragon, since that was the year she was elected.  But like I said, we don't know who the Divine was during the movie so dates are a bit vague.

Will the choice of walking into the Eluvian with Morrigan matter in DA3:I?

Will there be any new companions whose real names we DO know?

Or less insulting, perhaps: will all new companions use their real names?

Hmmm... I might have confused a Gaider tweet confirming what events were referenced for being something that also confirmed when they're taking place.

I'm not sure. It's late. I'm tired.

Just how old is Flemeth? Was she old enough to have been present during Andraste's time? Did she witness Andraste being executed by flame?

I wouldn't doubt BW to throw that twist in there. It would be rather interesting if she was.

For some bizarre reason, I would like to know how the various cultures handle bathing, voiding and other sanitation rituals -- particularly something rather uncommon, like bathing in dust or sand and rinsing in freshwater (something that certain real-world cultures practiced in the past, actually). Some nomadic cultures had the practice of women giving birth away from the tribe/caravan to alleviate the need for any cleanup within the tribe/caravan.

I have no idea why I want to know such things. (Maybe, it was the burrito.)

I have a question about Reavers. In DA:O the tooltip on a warrior's character screen says the Reaver's power can be taught by demons. In DA:2, it says the power comes from ritually-prepared Dragon's blood. When asked about reaver's power, Kolgrim says that there is power in blood (a philosophy) and that understanding came from the high dragon, presumably its blood.

However, it seems to me that being a Reaver is basically a form of blood magic, and anyone- theoretically- could draw from the forbidden power in their blood and be a Reaver, given the proper know-how. One way to get that knowlege of course, is to drink dragon's blood, which crazes people and puts them in a state of mind where they'd know how to be a Reaver, but, as it says in the tooltip, couldn't that knowlege also be granted by demons? Or am I wrong and dragon's blood is an essential component which Reavers draw on to use their talents?

I hope this isn't too annoying to re-post a question...I originally posted it a few pages back, but I was just curious if any of the writers/devs could speak to whether we might ever learn the fate of the elven slaves taken from the alienage in Denerim, or be able to rescue them?

Thank you in advance! :)

dude it's been ten years since then so finding out might not happen in game (for some I reason think Isabela might have freed some of them if that helps)

-- I have often mused about the possibility.... abomination... Flemeth.... being burned at the stake...   Actually Flemeth could have roasted Andraste without bothering with a bonfire.  But, if Andraste had a "bit of flotsam to cling to in the storm" and someone to give her amulet a Dalish rite for the departed, who would she come back as?

It has been a while and as you mentioned, Isabella's revealed past is indeed part of the reason I was mulling over this question! :)  The Denerim slaves are a plot point I've wondered about since I first played Origins and I've always hoped for some word about it or a chance to find them...one of the reasons I like to choose "I think I'll travel" for my Tabris at the coronation :)

Does anyone know the what the populations of city elves is compared to the Dalish? I was always under the impression that that the city elves numbers were greater than the Dalish, but after replaying DA2 realized this may not be true as the Dalish move so often from place to place. I always wondered how many different tribes of Dalish there were.

Yes.

Most of the time, Banns and Arls rule their own areas just fine. A person who governs while a monarch is gone is called a regent, while a group of them are called a regency council.

It would be another noble that Alistair appointed. Could be Emmon. Could be Tegon. Could be someone else.

I'm aware that there is nothing in the Codex or game to indicate what her surname is, however she must have one in some form or another, I just wanted a "Word of God" answer on what it is.

Assuming he's the sole ruler, then probably a regent. Perhaps even the Warden. Considering some historical kings went on Crusade, even for years at a time, it's hardly an outlandish idea.

If one believes that Flemeth is the one from the original Fereldan legend, then she would have been born in the Towers Age-- at least five hundred years after the time of Andraste. So, if that's the case, no. She would still be over six hundred years old, however.

You mean like Varric, Merrill, Aveline or even Fenris (which isn't his original name, but you do learn it)? Or am I to understand that Anders and Isabela not using their "real" names is the same as no party members doing so?

I'd say to not expect that every character will use the name they were given at birth, or even care what it is. They'll go by the name they go by.

Was Andraste's lifetime ever mentioned anywhere? It seems she died in 1025 TE, but I haven't been able to find her date of birth or something that details when she began preaching.
