Confessions of a Talimancer

I picked up ME a few weeks after launch on a friends recommendation. It blew my mind. Like other bioware RPG games (KOTOR & DA) I expected to be able to largely make anyone want my Shepard's bod. I enjoyed Tali a lot (overall infact Quarians are my favorite race) back then, liked her vaguely Slavic accent, and that she came from an uncorrupted socialists society, had a good head on her shoulders, and the widest hips in the game. Unfortunately she wasn't romancable, Ashley was borderline racist (made me uncomfortable considering I was trying to romance an alien), and I don't think I can play an RPG without my character having a sincere romantic relationship with just enough cutscene to hint at smutt. So I romanced Liara, who was sincere, compassionate, blue, and well endowed.
Then came ME2, Tali was single and willing - I redid everything and didn't look back for a second, even during SBL.
Now, as more extended universe has found it's way into my media, I've learned a little here and there, been through the dialogues with Tali a couple of times. Twice now Shepard has sent Tali home with the goods to make her popular as well as (potentially),getting her out of a jam with the law. Meanwhile Shepard's been dead without burial, and incarcerated by his own people. Where was Tali? Doing Quarian things, and rightly so - but obviously our priorities and physiologies were different. Borderline incompatable.
Then I found out that if I wasn't romancing her... Vakkarian. I felt guilty, he's my bro, never told me how he felt and all this time Liara has been chasing after me, recovering my lifeless corpse so I can be resurrected, taking time even when she isn't actually a part of the game because she's busy pursuing revenge, to still get up with me and let me know she cares. I was so busy making things work with Tali, I never noticed how dedicated Liara was or what was going on with Garrus, or how tedious some of Tali's points of view are.
It broke my heart (for a sincere four hours of my day), but I restarted the Mass Effect series. Going for the blue babies this time, and I won't wreck other people's lives to get them either. I play Mass Effect, this isn't something I call my mother to talk about, let alone even my friends. I realized the bioware mass effect community might be the only place where other people would understand how ground shaking this was for me.
Thanks.

You serious? It's a game, don't act like its your life. You might actually be joking, but my lulzmeter isn't picking anything up.
I too only realized in ME3 that Liara is heads over heels for you, one way or another.

Ashley was borderline racist again this makes me laugh all becuase she does not trust some aliens that she has never met before um think that is what 90% of us would be like with someone we have never met.Mr. Pockets wrote...

Besides, Liara will live for up to 900 more years, you won't be her last love hell, by the time shes 300, she'll be saying, Shepard who?
Tali on the other end will live as long as you, not counting the ME3 endings lol

That love between Garrus and Tali doesn't exist in a Talimancer or Garrusmance play through lol so you ain't denying anyone anything.
