GI's no fun to play. I mean it's hilarious at first but then the whole god mode thing gets stale REALLY fast... I respecced mine into pure melee with a Claymore. Still barely touch it though. Makes you pay more attention when you're using it, though.

At any rate, it doesn't look like the OP was bragging to me - Looks like he's trying to say instead of kicking two beginners he switched to the GI (switch being the key word - wasn't using it originally) and decided to earn them some free creds instead, sort of like giving them an improvised starter pack.

So for that, kudos OP. MP needs more like you.

You mean....CARRIED? B)

It's platinum, and they were N7 30 and 26 respectively. If that was me I wouldn't have been carried, I'd have been stuffed into a backpack.

He did a good thing, especially with the trolltastic RNG and the multiple DLCs that really dilute the pool even when RNG is feeling kind. The game isn't offering starter packs to new players and this is pretty much the next best thing - Also acclimates them to the higher difficulties.

But no, I don't believe 'carried' to be the correct word here, even if the result was effectually the same.

in regards to the problem with the GI......i had to highlight the horrible truth in your first post.

and what you described is carrying.

Eh? What's wrong with what you highlighted? They're beginners, and as I said they sure could use a starter pack. Since the game doesn't offer one, giving them a single plat match's worth of credits is the next best thing.

Maybe, but to me 'carrying' is when the other players don't even try - Eg, a subjectively "terrible" player who genuinely puts in an effort, uses consumables, works with the team and *tries* (even if they don't actually) to help with objectives - No matter their actual contribution to the team, I'd never consider those players to have been 'carried'.

On the other hand, people who sit behind a counter and refuse to help with the objectives - ESPECIALLY objectives that need the full team's participation - those people I consider to be carried. Basically for me, leeching and/or purposefully not helping with objectives = being carried. Especially obnoxious in certain cases when 2 players are desperately trying to escort a drone, repeatedly medi-gelling until they run out, and the other two are far away camping and they actually have the gall to go on the mic to each other: "So how many times have they gone down now?" Yeah, that's the kind of person that gets carried. The people the OP mentioned don't seem to be like this, seeing as the OP hasn't made a single complaint about them.

Brag thread is a brag thread is a brag thread.

and imma have to bring this up again,...cuz what you are trying to say is so dang on silly.

Yo man...you carry 99% of gold matches and most of the platinum matches you play in....so what difference does it make what others are doing CUZ YOU RULE WHENEVER YOU SHOW UP. and from what i get...Nothing matters about anything anyone else is or does...cuz you being there equals insta WIN. you are spouting rhetoric and doing a poor job at it.

Dude used one of the best weapons in the game on the biggest OP character....then posted a pic to say..teammates dont matter so long as you use the GI (piranha is the icing on the cake).

That is not what is in the title. =]

You said "GI/Piranha". Now you are changing the story. Now it is GI/scorpion. Then it is GI/any gun.

So this thread becomes GI is overpowered and I carried 2 newbs congratulate me....

Updated the title for you. And I think with this line "Equip the most powerful class you can think of and earn some newcomers some credits" already in the first post, I won't change the OP.

For clarification :: If I were to say what you would need in your class if you don't want to kick low levels, it should include: a heavy hitting weapon for bosses (piranha, harrier, indra, etc), a staggering lightweight weapon (scorpion is great or the falcon with its weight reduction), and most importantly.. an infiltrator.

GI is nice for wall hacks and damage but the Salarian is just as viable. Still has your debuff and Energy Drain for much greater survivability.

The purpose of this thread is just as I said - Instead of kicking low levels, throw on your best class. For me it's exciting/challenging and those guys who probably have their filters set on unknown/unknown/unknown (like we all did at first)  get a lot more credits than usual.

It's fun stuff.

exactly, one reason why I suggested that they increase the weight of the piranha to match the crusader.

It's idiots like you whom I blame for all the freaking nerfs that take the fun out of this game, you realize not everyone has a crusader?

yet just about everyone has the piranha.

and i agree with a weight increase on the piranha. Bring back the 2 rounds. increase weight. decrease rate of fire just a hint.

theyve nerfed 3-4 guns in 7 months, while buffing DOZENS of powers and guns.
your information is incorrect and untruthful.
theres dozens of other threads on this topic specifically for you to complain.

try  /sea nerf and get your whine on.

Two things:

1) If that's how you choose to interpret it, then go ahead. You seem to enjoy making assumptions. To me, OP is simply saying that instead of kicking lower players, why not choose an OP class to make up for the loss of effectiveness and then earn them a starter pack? Kindness goes a long way, both in ME3MP and life in general.

2) Similarily, when I made that statement I wasn't bragging. There's nothing to be proud of in carrying, only frustration. Carrying is a painful experience. Why would I brag about it? What that quote was, was me complaining about the average PUG player. Let me clarify that I was only talking about pug matches. Sure, maybe you've had better experience, but I was talking about how the vast majority of randoms I've played with tend to be the kind that will stand over a fallen teammates body shooting instead of reviving to get the most score, and put a 50m distance between themselves and the objectives at all costs, as well as refusing to use a single consumable ever, equipment or in-match. As I said before, if the person is actually trying then I never consider them to be 'carried'. There's something to be said about the fact that the moment I actually start playing with someone who knows what they're doing, they tend to do better than I do. I am not a terrific player and I haven't ever pretended to be. Argue that all you want, but if you're trying to convince me that I think I'm an instant-win condition for MP, you're horribly wrong. I will not continue this month-old arguement with you that you absolutely refuse to drop.

Except that wouldn't work either. GI (along with other infiltrators) completely bypass the weight system, remember?

Seriously, all of you screaming for a weight nerf, just stop... It would fix absolutely nothing. The GI and Destroyer are the reasons why the Piranha is considered OP, because they take the damage output to a whole another level with their RoF, accuracy and damage bonuses. These classes also don't give two fraks about encumbrance. You can't fix this problem by raising it's weight, you'd just make the gun useless on other classes that don't buff it past god tier.

Missle glitch = Overpowered
Invincible Vorcha = Overpowered

Piranha = Solid Weapon

Nerf the piranha or any more guns or classes than there's no reason to really play this game legitly anymore. Punish legit players who use the right combination of classes and guns to get the job done. Still need to be able to aim and dodge and get ammo and have skill at the game. BIOWARE, STOP NERFING STUFF!!!

I'd say the Piranha is one of those weapons that you don't really need to aim, kinda like the Krysae.

So we should carry low ranked players because you could do it with possibly the best class/weapon combo on the easiest farming board?

How long did this farming run take? How much easier/faster would it have been with better players?

Okay, I posted my first reply before I read the rest of the post. It looks to me that if you take an Asari give her a decent sniper and stasis bubble *gasp* SHE'S OVERPOWERED!!! If you give any Biotic a Acolyte Pistol *gasp* THEIR OVERPOWERED!!! Stop complaining. The GI is not overpowered any more than the Drell. In the right hands, they will always be overpowered. I specialize in the Demolisher noob class, you know, heavy powerful weapons and tons of grenades, however I tried out the GI and the setup with the piranha and I realized something, I still gotta aim. There's no auto aim. Enemies don't explode. In fact, I can take out more things faster with my other Infiltrator than with the GI but he is good for focused attack. He's not overpowered. Neither is the Piranha. My friends and I specialize in the classes and weapons that people use the least. If you were to hop into one of our games, you'd think Carnage is over powered. My favorite is kamikaze tech armor, please nerf tech armor. I mean, I get like gold tech medals because I KNOW how to use it. Everyone is different. Stop nerfing and start working on fixing the bugs.

I didn't advocate for the Piranha nerf.

That said, the Piranha is a spam-weapon. Aim in the general direction of the enemy, and watch stuff die.

And I'll never think Carnage is overpowered. If anything, I think it needs a buff.

^this

also I have changed to the GI when in a gold lobby with two people under N7 100 instead of kicking them. Otherwise I try to run as my other toons.

the only times I run the GI are like i said if i have low level players on team or if i had a bad day and just want to play GOD for a little while.

**Edited OP** It's completely up to you. Sorry, I didn't mean for it to come off as a command. Fixed now.

Also, I think I described the situation pretty clearly.. you're farming FBW/G/P and low level players enter the lobby. Instead of vote-kicking them right away, you could consider using your best setup to get those players some credits. It makes the game more interesting (like a minigame/challenge) and you are helping out some new players.

We definitely broke some records, though. 29 minute run, son! ;)

I don't mind if there is one low level unless they have an obscenely stupid loadout but I don't routinely feel like using more time and consumables than I should have to. Again I don't want to sound like an elitest Ahole but some people simply aren't ready for that level even on farming much less actual game play. You shouldn't have to carry someone for them to get credits.
