GI's no fun to play. I mean it's hilarious at first but then the whole god mode thing gets stale REALLY fast... I respecced mine into pure melee with a Claymore. Still barely touch it though. Makes you pay more attention when you're using it, though.
At any rate, it doesn't look like the OP was bragging to me - Looks like he's trying to say instead of kicking two beginners he switched to the GI (switch being the key word - wasn't using it originally) and decided to earn them some free creds instead, sort of like giving them an improvised starter pack.
So for that, kudos OP. MP needs more like you.
You mean....CARRIED?
It's platinum, and they were N7 30 and 26 respectively. If that was me I wouldn't have been carried, I'd have been stuffed into a backpack.
He did a good thing, especially with the trolltastic RNG and the multiple DLCs that really dilute the pool even when RNG is feeling kind. The game isn't offering starter packs to new players and this is pretty much the next best thing - Also acclimates them to the higher difficulties.
But no, I don't believe 'carried' to be the correct word here, even if the result was effectually the same.
in regards to the problem with the GI......i had to highlight the horrible truth in your first post.
and what you described is carrying.
Eh? What's wrong with what you highlighted? They're beginners, and as I said they sure could use a starter pack. Since the game doesn't offer one, giving them a single plat match's worth of credits is the next best thing.
Maybe, but to me 'carrying' is when the other players don't even try - Eg, a subjectively "terrible" player who genuinely puts in an effort, uses consumables, works with the team and *tries* (even if they don't actually) to help with objectives - No matter their actual contribution to the team, I'd never consider those players to have been 'carried'.
On the other hand, people who sit behind a counter and refuse to help with the objectives - ESPECIALLY objectives that need the full team's participation - those people I consider to be carried. Basically for me, leeching and/or purposefully not helping with objectives = being carried. Especially obnoxious in certain cases when 2 players are desperately trying to escort a drone, repeatedly medi-gelling until they run out, and the other two are far away camping and they actually have the gall to go on the mic to each other: "So how many times have they gone down now?" Yeah, that's the kind of person that gets carried. The people the OP mentioned don't seem to be like this, seeing as the OP hasn't made a single complaint about them.
