I saw someone else had this happend to them on the bioware forums. In the human noble begining after retrieving the sword and speaking with Ser Gilmore you are supposed to goto the kitchen only all three paths are blocked two by burning ruble and the third by a locked door. I'm assuming that this door is supposed to unlock after speaking to Ser Gilmore however it did not and he's now bracing the main door with nothing more to say. Did I miss a needed key or something or is it just a failed event handler?
The person with this error said that it didn't occur on thier 2nd playthrough but thats not really an acurate fix I don't really want to have to start over if I don't have to.

you have to clear out the main room ( Howe's treachery arrow) ...this will start a dialogue and the door in that room will be able to unlocked and then you can get to the larders from there. there is no other way to get to the pantry
I suggest clearing out that room first then going to the treasury it will still be available to get the sword

The only fix I know of for this is restoring to an earlier save. If you haven't tried another play through you should have two autosaves (just after talking to your brother/family, and waking up during the attack) these give you a chance to reload the conversation.
Looks like the bug is the wrong door is randomly unlocked. For me, the two times this has happened, it's been the guest room door back towards the start of the level rather then the proper one in the main hall.

Yeah I had to restart from an Autosave. Seems to just be a random error in which the dialog didn't start automatically after clearing that room but that's interesting that you (finnwop) are saying other rooms are unlocking instead hopefully this will be addressed in a patch but its more a minor nuisance than a debilitating bug. Like all PC games, save often I suppose.
