At which point I would wipe my hands of Mass Effect.
There shouldn't be a Mass Effect 4. I should have been satiated with the trilogy. What could possibly be left? Fighting mercs? Cerberus? Or perhaps another big bad villain, which would be ridiculously contrived.

This is why they need to get as far away from Shepard's story, the galaxy as Shepard knew it even, as possible if they want to continue.Podge 90 wrote...
With the abrupt introduction at the very start of ME3, and this silly Paragon Lost thing, there's a part of me that believes James Vega is being set up as the next protagonist.

Decades after the Reapers were beaten.. Everything was rebuild and there was peace.. The races knew that they couldn't make Synthethic life because of the danger that they would rebel agains their creators. The humans are now the most respected and important species of the Milky Way. The Technology has also increaed a lot.
We always knew the galaxy Andromeda was coming closer and closer towards the Milky way. But at this moment...
It's close enough to travel to eachother. There is no doubt that there is life in other galaxy's.. What danger lies beyond the borders of The Milky way?
(I can't decide if the Inhabitants of Andromeda will invade The Milky way or that The inhabitants of the Milky Way wil invade Andromeda)

Most notably, they said it would be an ending to Shepard's story. A cliffhanger is not an ending. It's really simple.
A Open ended ending is not the same as a clifhanger.

Also despite being primarily a Contorl player, Synthesis would make for a really interesting new setting

it would be a really huge game, but its maybe worth the wait. Three totally different stories.

I'll admit that in general I'm rubbish at both tactical RPG's and shoot em ups.
But having Played Mass Effect 1, 2 & 3 along with having played Silver and Gold matches,
Insanity just isn't "insane" anymore.
Provide new difficulties with stronger enemies that have stronger AI.
Challenge those who are either tactically minded or are so used to the combat rules of Mass Effect that they can beat insanity.
I feel it would be a great way to reward players who have played the previous games.

I want a game set immediately after the events of ME1, with Shepard missing and a long way from being revived. I want a game that recaptures the glory of ME1. The Reapers are still out there and the galaxy might be doomed... but is it really doomed? We only saw that last battle from Shepard's point of view, after all. There's still room for good stories.

A new beginning
A female protagonist
Choices made in ME Trilogy observed
Space Combat was sad that I never piloted the Normandy
You can make Shep female, why take that choice away from the next game?
And JohnShepard, some of that can still come via dlc, and a cliffhanger is an ending, it just doesn't give much closure

I want to see a real ending. A happy and good one. I want to know what happens to everyone. I mean at the end of ME3, wtf happened to Admiral Hackett? Bailey?

A cameo of Shepard's Li (Garrus for me), talking to the next protagonist about "The Shepard" and whether or not Shepard lived or died at the end of ME3. That [alone] would get me to at least try ME4...with confidence.
Or Liara telling her little blue femshep the story whether Sheppard lived or died etc... would definitely help heal the wounds.

- Shepard
- Reapers
- Main character is in the military, cause being an explorer or civilian would suck.
- Mystery / Suspense / Drama / etc.
- Pretty much everything that made Mass Effect one of my favorite series.
- MOAR EXPLOSIONS

I just posted this in another thread:
Distant future, like a few centuries to well over a thousand years. Since "synthesis is inevitable" (Achieved later independantly), destroy isn't impossible to recover from (Mostly) and Control has less of an impact on the galaxy itself: They could make a pretty consistant universe at that point if they used the variables to create alternate histories to reach that outcome (Affecting exposition and codex entries) as long as the Reapers get sent away for whatever reason if Control or Synthesis was chosen (Possible plot point?)
And the new protagonist can be races other than human. At least Asari and Turians. And there will be multiple backgrounds for each including being a descedant of Shepard if human or Asari (Heck, even Shepard's daughter as Asari). Also, the new protagonist may have gone on long walks with his/her grandfather/mentor/guardian as a child, who told stories about "the Shepard".
Yes, I'm being extremely optimistic
The current Reaper story needs to be tossed. We need to start with a fresh slate.
Agreed, fresh slate would be refreshing.

Isn’t the space expansion theory stating that matter in space is moving further apart not closer together? ….and yes I know its Science Fiction.
