Ever since the notification Wednesday, I haven't been able to get onto the server. At first I thought it must be that the server was full because everyone was claiming their packs, but two days later and I STILL haven't been able to get onto multiplayer. The little "connecting" ring freezes, stays like that for a half-minute or so, and then I get the "Error, Mass Effect 3 servers unavailable" screen. I've tried seeing if it's an issue with my computer, as people on the MP forum suggested, but nothing's working.

PLEASE HELP!!!

You might try joining a private match via invite where origin is running but ME3 is not. Sometimes this seems to initialize and get past some of the startup errors...if you can get in to a private invite then chances are it will have fixed the other issue.

In the last couple of days I have seen something new that I've not seen before: I start ME3 after origin is running, and it can't connect to the server from ME3...but if I click multiplayer it finally connects, and exiting multiplayer will show galactic readiness (which did not show prior to starting). Up until a couple of days ago it always managed to check galactic readiness without first going to multiplayer.

Hmm, I'll have to try the clicking multiplayer thing. I was actually considering reinstalling origin.

Thanks for the heads up, guys.

Ugh, still no luck.

It's SO nice to know people who can do something about it are visiting these forums and actually PAYING ATTENTION TO THE ISSUES WE'RE HAVING...

they do pop in from time to time, but its the weekend so its rather unlikely they will be on,

have you tried deleting the firewall entries and then readding them as full access since the update the other day ?

Ah, Origin wasn't on my "exceptions" list, so maybe that's what it was. Lemme try again.

Aaaaaand STILL no go. This is getting ridiculous. How do I delete these firewall entries/whatever you're talking about? Should I uninstall/reinstall Origin?

make sure upnp is enabled in the router (sounds bizzare) but ea creates a vpn tunnel via origin, and disable all port forwarding but enable nat might fix it, not sure but i think origin's latest update basically changed the default turedo tunnel to become named ea tunnel and i think it changed hte port number its useing due to one of the french companies startign a trial on moneterizing net traffic (to do wiht ending net neutrality)

i neve thought about it before becuase mine's enabled by default, but i do recall the reason i changed that was i used ot use a home hub and xbox live /steam games that both wanted ot use the same port's, its why i bought a decent router that doesnt try to force me into stupid situations ><

I did not understand ANY of that.... I'm on ethernet cable, if that means anything.

Your cable can be connected directly to your modem or other device, which includes going through a hub or switch. Or...your device can be a router, in which case it is designed to share a single IP address. If you have a router instead of a direct/switch connection (many people do) you will have complications in settings designed to aid incoming connections. UPNP and other features are designed to allow the operating system (e.g., windows 7) try to talk to the router and discover and set up a few things...none of which matter if you have a cable modem only (possibly with a switch) rather than a router. If you share the connection with other people then you have to have a router unless you get extra IP addresses...extra addresses pretty much always cost extra, and often are not even an option. So...find out if you have a router or direct connect.

Oh, I get it now. No, I don't have a router that I know of. My ethernet cable goes from my computer to the wall. That said, I couldn't connect on the school's wireless either. Honestly, I'm not so inept as to not know what a router is, I just had no idea what he was saying. :P

hmm that made me question my sanity for a moment.

there must be some sort of modem or router somewhere in your building, its not possible for an isp to run things purely on ethernet cables, which would lead me to deduce your living in some sort of shared netowrk environemnt and your administrator needs ot be contacted to get the system to stop blocking the connections (even if thats soemthing you have ot ask your parents)

being rather an old fossle i have no idea how people connect up now, oh and even if your on cable there will still be a router or modem somewhere in the building, otherwise the company wouldnt be able to tell which dwelling was doing what (and isp's are required ot snoop on everyone by laws like the DMCA) part of the reason i as a responsible parent lock my kids out of 99.9999999% of the internet so they cant make me guilty by default of anything (being as there to young to be sued) and i'm too broke not to care :)

My only question would be why it's suddenly blocking connections now when it never has before, unless something in the game/Origin update now marks it as harmful or some BS. We're not too restricted - university setting, lol.

I wonder if I would've turned out better if my Dad locked me out of the internet too... xD

nope its changed the name of hte tunnel and the port numbers, before the update you got a teredo tunnel now you get one rigistered as an ea tunnel, that alone will cause problems for a lot of people.
