Some help deciding on things for my next playthrough.

I completed my first Playthrough tonight, I did the full game as a Two Hander warrior human, with Morrigan, Alistair and Wynne. I made mostly neutral choices, leaning towards good i guess and i had Morrigan as the romance option.
I'm looking to play through another time now with some slightly different things, so i have a few questions.
1, What do you recommend as my next race/class combination? i really enjoyed playing a warrior so i'm not sure if a caster would be for me, or would it be a good change of pace, or perhaps i should go with a warrior with a different weapon choice or maybe a rogue?
2, Whats the best team in terms of synergy and dialogue really? i want to have Sten to learn some more about his incident etc, and ideally all different characters, from my first run, but i'd probably have to have Wynne anyway, would it be best to leave Sten as a two handed warrior? also who for the last slot ? could Lei, Sten and Wynne work well? or would i be pretty screwed without a tank?
Is there an alternative way i can make it through the game without Wynne somehow too? because i'd go for completely new characters if possible.
3, Ideally i want to go through the game using a lot of persuasion, what would you recommend as a character thats very fun/effective but can also mostly use alternate methods like persuasion for some of the game.
Thanks a lot!

For example, I find Oghren to be hilarious...but I want a sword/shield warrior for tanking. I respec him to to sword/board, and there we go.
I find the best party make ups are either tank/2h warrior/rogue/mage or tank/rogue/mage/mage. I find Oghren to be the most interesting of the warrior NPCs, for what it is worth.

But for the "best" possible party. I'd go with: Tank (Alistar imo is better than Shale, because he can get 100% fire resist and 100% spell resist, and he's just good anyways) PC Dual Wield Warrior (great DPS, some would say the best. Plus you can wear massive armor) Leliana as an archer, Zevran could work, but I find that Leliana is cooler, and AoS is an awesome mage-killer. Then you could go with a mage if you want.
But for a party with Sten? Try this: Shale (assuming you don't want to play with Alistar again), Sten, Leliana, PC Mage. Spec your PC mage Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer. Now, you're basically a warrior, and you have spells. Get these spells (obviously, this includes the ones before it. So when I say Mass Paralyse, I also mean Miasma)
Fade Shroud
Cone of Cold
Mass Paralyse
Telekinetic Weapons
Mass Rejuvinate
Haste
Lifeward
Rock Armor
Imo, that gives you plenty of damage, crowd control, and healing. You have Combat Magic, Shimmering Shield, Lifeward, Miasma, Haste, Heroic Offense, Heroic Defense, Rock Armor, Telekinetic Weapons for buffs. You then have the Mass Rejuv line, which is good when you have Leliana and Sten, who are focused around their active abilities. Heal/Group Heal and Revive for keeping people alive. Mindgames + Cone of Cold + Mass Paralyze for crowd control. Forcefield for when someone gets overwhelmed/grabbed.

I recently just went through a Hard playthrough with 2 2h Warrior (Myself and Oghren) with Wynne and Leliana using range.
So long as you have a Mage with Regeneration, Heal, and a little CC, you can use any other combo you want.
As far as Origins go... going through as a City Elf seems pretty fun. At least up to Lothering the reactions are pretty cool. I'd like to go through as a Dwarf as well but... they're too... short.

I was going to make a City Elf dual wield warrior, but seeing as you just did warrior, try a dalish rogue instead (It's what I just finished, I quite liked how everyone treated me for it too)
But use this combo for party members...
Dog (DPS and/ or Tank) -- Even game designers call this baby the secret tank, not many recognize his true potential
You (DPS) -- Dual wield / Dalish / Rogue
Morrigan (Heals) -- I know she is meant for DPS, but you'll be amazed how easy she transitions to take over Wynne's place, and she is like a 100 times cooler! And she will love your A**-hole choices in the story line lol
Shale (DPS and/or Tank) -- Kinda the same thing as the dog, though her loud stomping gets a little annoying!
If you don't have DLC Shale, then replace him with Leliana as DPS and make Dog the dedicated tank (Just put points towards his health instead of pure strength)
Make your Rogue a duelist by the way, Haha... I practically never take a hit. I dodge or parry everything, including ranger's arrows...
Hope this suggestion helped! I thought it was an interesting one at least (=

I'd suggest:
Elven mage (female if your first character was male and you're comfortable with that). That way you can provide the healing, crowd control, AoE, and leave both Morrigan and Wynne at camp if you want (since you used both of them last time).
You could go for Shale as a tank, Zevran as dual wielding rogue, Oghren or Sten as a 2handed dps warrior. Or if you want to tank for yourself as an Arcane Warrior, then you could drop Shale and bring Leliana and spec her with archery (bard/ranger).
Really, if you're not a min-maxer, make your choices based on roleplaying, pick what looks like a fun or interesting mix of elements and go for it. Just remember that the various companions have different values, this can complicate things (romancing Leliana if you are 'evil' can be tricky if you include her in the party) but it can also be interesting (Zevran and Wynne in a party can be hilarious, as can Zevran and Shale - especially if you are romancing Zev).

2) First game I did as you and most others did I guess, I took Morri, Alis and Wynne. I love that playthrough because it was my first and so nothing can touch that. However, for pure comic relief, the top-spot must go to my all-male companion party - you really dont need Wynne, just have someone learn the healing skill. So it was me (Rogue), Alistair, Sten and the Dog. Replaced Dog with Zev when I picked him up (quite early in retrospect, due to a slightly different order of play) and then replaced Zev with Oghren as soon as I could. Which again you can do quite early if you zip around Orzammar up to the Deep Road part, or just leave Zev out altogether and grab Oghren first. If you must have a romance, you can do that in camp with one of the girls, play a female and hit on Alis/Zev, or just go for Zev with your male PC. Either way, you won't be disappointed with the banter of the all male group, it tops anything the women can offer.
Speaking of which, why did they make the women so humourless and dull? I am playing an all girl group right now and it's a struggle being lectured from all sides, let me tell you. You will probably never want to romance a female companion again!
3) I'm not sure the persuasion checks take into account class/race/gender, but my PCs have probably gotten more bolder each playthrough so persuasion is definately a fun option. My poor dwarf PC has been knocked back a few times when she has offered sexual favours with 2 levels of Coercion. I think I may keep her at just the 2 levels, failure can be fun. If you want to be effective at persuading, just get that Coercion maxed asap.

And I max Ceorcion first thing, just throw a point into Combat Training so I can actually have more than 1 or 2 spells of course lol (=
