D'AWW ferrets rule :wub::wizard:

I know I have two of them. Really a ferret would make an awesome pet for a thief character. You know you can train them to pickpocket?

A honey badger, of course.

That honey badger just doesn't give a damn, does it?

As much as I would prefer a familiar pet, like the mabari, I feel a new pet is long overdue.

Or we can get an Orlesian mabari, there's that.

Anything would do, as long as its a proper companion, and not some lame gimmick you summon out of thin air.

Proper companion... in what way?

Should it take a companion slot, or just be a pet that does not fight, at all?

Presumably like dog in DAO--an actual companion, with a companion slot, skills, etc. Not just a summoned magical creature.

I would be okay with that, but i always felt like the dog would under-perform compared to a humanoid companion.

If they could somehow "buff it up," I would see no problems with it.

Hell, I might even take it with me from time to time.

Edit: Damn, forgot to quote. Haven't been on the forums for a while now.:unsure:

Ferrets are categorically some of the coolest animals ever.

I just want like a big, beautiful Clydesdale horse with furry hooves and big, brown eyes that is loveable but can also totally tear up enemies. Just go ham on some baddies, you know? That would be perfect.

Mabari again. If not him then a war cat. One strapped down with armor and nine lives. It can be like an extra life in battle. He jumps in and commits the ultimate sacrifice for me when I'm low on health. But he doesn't actually die because it's a cat...and cats don't die.

I have no problem with another Mabari, but a cat as a useful item like Ser Pounce-a-lot was in Awakening would make my day. But maybe show some interaction between the two, and actually show the PC petting them? That would make me really happy.
