Just make Robin Sachs do it again. I love his narrating.

I so wish Zaeed narrated the Destroy ending. But yeah I support any narrating by Robin Sachs.

It totally should be Sten.

"Tell me about [protagonist]."

"No."

Then the credits roll.

Morrigan or Flemeth would be good opening narrators. The opening of Witch Hunt was great, plus Morrigan has already talked about the change coming to the world in WH. She'd certainly fit the bill.

Then Flemeth seems to have her hand in most everything.

I'd love to see this too.:P

Or we could have Sten, he would stare blankly at us for ten seconds then say "no" and the game would begin.

Definitely Morrigan!

I love her voice, and am desperately hoping that DA3 involves more of a storyline between Morrigan, OGB and Flemeth, even if it is an expansion.

OGB = old god baby :D

I think the situation in Thedas being as it is, the only one who could do the opening narration justice would be Flemeth.

Flemeth, she could hint vaguely about why the previous PCs have disappeared, the mage/templar war and politics.

Whoever does it though I want it to be like DAO's not DA2's. I just want a quick run down of the current situation (and hopefully a You Are Here of the various starting areas) there's no need to tell me the end of the game before I even start playing.

I would love #3. Leliana is the best!

but Anders seems like it would make the most sense. Alive or not. Duncan was the narrator of DA:O and he died. After what Anders did and being the main cause of the war he would be the logical choice.

My vote still goes to Leliana though:wub:

Sten, while he has a nice voice actor, didn't strike me as an individual comfortable speaking. Whether this stemmed from the language barrier, or the subject matter, or simply his own private nature, I am unsure. His words were well chosen and he spoke volumes with as few lines as possible.

Duncan by contrast, was the Warden's mentor and is responsible for the Order as whole, making sometimes completely diverse individuals a cohesive force.  Before my first playthrough I expected him to be around most if not the entire game, and is very central to the overall plot (being the Warden Commander of a nation experiencing a Blight) even if he does die not long into the game.

Varric makes a living speaking, weaving a tale for an audience (in this case, of one) but is completely at home when spinning yarns. His was the natural personality to tell Hawke's tale, and Bioware pulled it off quite nicely, allowing me to get immersed in the story, and not think so much about the "this is being told to someone" factor.

The Sten (actually he's the Arishok now), but speaking in Qunari. He should speak at great length, using many many words, with some passion even. This should go on for several minutes. The subtitles should read "The Grey Wardens defeated the Blight. The old Arishok was killed in Kirkwall. The kabethari, saarebas and bas all divided against themselves. It was madness."

Then begins the game proper.

If it's voiced by Anders then the game is going in the dustbin.

Sandal and Bodahn should do it.

But mainly Sandal.

I'm hoping they largely ditch narration for this next game.  I think the framed narrative approach with DA2 was used too much to replace having good exposition.

Granted, they'll probably have at least SOME narration.  In which case, I want the protagonist VA to do it--male or female, whichever you picked.  Which will also have the advantage that they CAN'T start the game until you make your character.

Cassandra would be a cool choice too. Hopefully with DA2 VA, not the one from that awful movie.

I think Cassandra would be a good option to be the narrator for the opening. She can narrate the opening in a similar fashion as the mighty grey warden Duncan.

I like the idea of Sten doing the narration, maybe in a scene as part of a briefing to the Arishok about what he encountered in Ferelden, and then the current state of affairs overseas right after the Kirkwall incident, to lead into what happens in Dragonage III. It would be fun to see them mention the Mark of the Assassin incident and then discuss preparation/timing for the invasion of Orlais DEPENDING on the events that take place.... Hmmm, to invade, or not to invade? That is the question, my dear Sten!
