I had some recent issues with varathorn not selling me anything but i finished the quest and sided with the elves so that it all patched up now.  I am doing pretty well right now but have one problem, Morrigan!  My character, alistair, and shale NEVER die but Morrigan dies in literally every fight. Obvioulsy I want to keep her because she can be very useful but I just need some tips or something on how I can maybe stop her from dieing so much.  Anyone?

Are you having Alistair or Shale tank?

If Shale is tanking, make a Tactic so that she uses Stone Roar on the enemy attacking Morrigan. This will draw the enemy's attention to Shale. If it is more than one attacking Morrigan, have Shale get close and use Bellow, then run Morrigan away.

If Alistair is tanking, have him get close and use Taunt. Make sure Threaten is activated. Run Morrigan to a safe distance.

What spells does she know? If she knows Cone of Cold, use it to freeze the enemies attacking her and run away.

If all else fails, have Morrigan hang back when going into a battle. Let Shale and/or Alistair grab aggro before she casts any spells.

Hope this helps.

If you are running with Alistair AND Shale, then let Shale do all the tanking, and let Alistair offtank. Anything that attacks Morrigan should be Shield Bashed, Overpowered, Assaulted, Shield Pommeled, etc. by Alistair.

If I choose to run with that party, I will make sure that Shale has all the "Look at me" Defender slots filled. While Alistair will have all his tactics filled with "Get off my healer" tactics, and attack enemy casters, lowest health enemies, etc.

If Morrigan still is pulling too much aggro, take away some of her DMG spells, and leave only CC + Heals filled in the tactics slots.

well I took the advice from both of you and it is helping GREATLY! I really feel dumb that I never made Alistair attack the enemy on Morrigan and shale tank. Also I just got varathorn to sell to me so now I have basically unlimited health poultices so that helps lol.

I have the opposite problem, Morrigan never dies but Alistair (and Sten, oh Sten) dies fairly quickly and early, and always at a random time when I'm not looking. He will be at full health, two seconds later he dies. Morrigan with life drain, mind blast, cone of cold, etc etc always survives for an incredibly long time (with her tactics set up).

Granted that is early levels. Around level 15-16 Alistair becomes beastly.

This is where specialization comes into play. You have Alistair, he can taunt. In case things trouble up, taunt and if Morrigan is still in trouble make her run. You need to figure out why they come for Morrigan. For example if you do a AOE attack on enemies, they do. Unless they are occupied with Alistair. Enemies also come for anyone they see first, so she stays at the back. Damage makes Enemies angry, so make sure she doesnt make more damage than Alistair has the power to hold enemies. There are so many ways.

Optionally you can leave her in camp, if she has a curse or something lol.
