"  So, we can forget about our favorites from previous games. And though chances that this particular tread will be read (not to mention taken into consideration) by developers are close to none. Still, we can dream, can we?

A lot of my favorites (Steve Blum, Gideon Emery, Adam Howden, Eve Myles, Victoria Kruger and - oh, so many - others) are off the list then. But there are still actors I personally would love to hear. Like Troy Baker, for example. One of the sexiest voice in the game industry, yet you never get him for LI acting! No fair! (curse you, BW, for Zenith) Or Mark Bazeley. God, what a voice! And he was only doing Additional Voices in DA2 - can we hope to get him for real action now? There are way to many to list but those two as VA for major characters would make the happiest gamer in the world. 

Oh, and Grey DeLisle as a female protagonist - is a dream.

call me strange, but i would want sean connery - maybe as a tevinter-magister/general (i loved the submarine commander he played in "hunt for red october" (the movie was full of plotholes that were not in the book, but his acting was cool IMHO))

then i would want Richard Dean Anderson (from stargate SG-1) for a witty character doing bad jokes and the like

there is a documentary called "adventures in voice acting" or something like that. its available on youtube. its mainly about anime but i think it applies to video games as well. so it seems like most of the time, the developers don't specifically pick out voice actors for roles, but rather hold auditions for the different roles, and then choose the most suited one.

I disagree. Even after playing the Mass Effect series multiple times, I continually forget that Kaidan's name is not "Carth". His voice is far too distinct.

Male Suggestions:


Nolan North: I know he is in every video game these days, but the amusing banter of Nolan North, not to mention his natural charisma enables him to have chemistry with every man and woman on the planet without even trying.

Christian Bale: This actor brings a level of seriousness and intensity to his roles. If I wanted comic relief I'd go for Nolan North. But when it comes to brooding, being depressed about upsetting turn of events without completly collapsing into tears, Christian Bale is my kind of guy.

Brian Blessed: Blantant type casting at it's most blantant. His voice is his ultimate weapon. His voice alone can slay a dragon by sending it into violent fits of laughter. Loud, boombing voice, unpredictable and somewhat bizzare sense of humour that blurrs the line between quirky and threatening. Campness, masculinity and strangeness into one unforgetable performance.

Samuel L Jackson: I want this guy simply for being awesome. I've only ever seen him play one role. It involves shouting, swearing, beating people up, shooting people, more shouting and more swearing. Oh and he exchanges very funny dialogue with other leads.

Robert Downey Junior: He has a great range, diversity and can capture every emotion with  the right amount of strength. I've never seen him over act or under act. He can be fun, sad, badass, witty, remorceful, intelligent, wise, athletic, geeky and a ladies man. He is the culmination of every awesome trait in the dictionary of "Badassness!" (a dictionary which is so badass it should be banned).

Sean Bean: Sharpes, Lord of The Rings, Game of Thrones. This guy is a manly warrior through and through. He can lead a team of warriors, and he can slay anyone who stands in his way. Yes it's another type casting, but I think he is just too good at this kind of role to not be considered.



Female Suggestions:

Angelina Jolie: She is a mainstream fighting woman, with a sharp tongue and very funny banter. But most of all, in every role, there is a sense of enjoyment. This actress actually does her own stunts and embraces danger rather than cowers in a corner. She can pull off a badass quite convincingly, and that is what you need in a world of Dragon Age where both women and men are equals.


Jennifer Garner: Alias comes to mind when casting this remarkable individual. She has a brillant acting range, from very happy, to sad to concerned to angry. She passes fluidly from one emotional state to another without stretching any sense of disbelief. As an actor she is emotionally engaged with the characters she plays and really nails difficult scenes that most actors would completly fluff. She is that caring paragon type character who will fight to protect the underdog and ultimately fight of justice.

Melissa George: Also from Alias, and is now staring in "Hunted". She has that constant look of fear, angst and desperation. But at the same time, she is very aggressive and dominant. She is a frightened little girl who will curl up into a little ball when no one is around. But when it is time to kick some ass, she really excells. Intelligent, smart, resourceful and strong. She is on this list for the same reason that Christian Bale is on this list. They both deal with intense emotions but still manage to save the day.

Jewel Staite:  Geeky, intelligent and willing to stand her ground without overpowering others. She listens to other people and is very good at being diplomatic. A problem solver with an impressive knowledge of people and engineering. She has the unique ability of being connected and immersed with the world of technology on a spiritual level. If technology has a soul, then Jewel Staite is definitely the one to spread the gospel to everyone far and wide.

Gina Torres: Equipped with a mean right hook, a love of fighting and a fantastic singing voice and a lust for life she is one powerful force of natural destruction. This actress is funny, agressive and fiercely protective of the ones she loves. Both a friend and guardian, Gina will stick by your side though all kinds of trouble. She would be effective as a party member in Dragon Age 3.

Anne Hathaway: Can she make people laugh? Check. Can she make people cry? Check. Can she be pull of a physical powerhouse? Check. Can she be sneaky? Check. Can she excell at being both the hero and the villain? Check. She exudes confidence in every role, adapting to any situation and able to relate to everyone with an impressive level of empathy rarely seen. She can embody any role and gets great enjoyment in doing so. There is a epic sense of fun on this incredible rollercoaster of emotions. Anne Hathaway is versatile. So there isn't a single role that wouldn't suit this superb actress.
