Not to mention that the Qunari we're dealing with are just a splinter-faction that left their original homeland.

My personal theory is that the Qunari were actually forcibly ejected from their homeland, specifically for their beliefs.

That's a good theory, but: "The Qunari are recent arrivals to Thedas,
having come by warships three centuries ago from an unknown eastern
land across the Northern Ocean. The contact with it was lost during the Storm Age."

They're an expedition team.

Neither of those links give me any information about why the Qunari have come. They have never claimed to be an expedition team, they've never claimed to be anything but a violent, conquering force.

If they lost contact with their homeland, why do they make no effort to seek it out, so as to gather re-inforcements to end the stalemate with Tevinter?

If the people of their homeland follow the Qun, why was the Tome of Koslun, the most precious relic of their religion, sent off with them? It should've been kept in their homeland, and protected.

Interesting theory...

Tevinter. Even though I love kossith, the qun is IMO horrible, and even though tevinter isn't good either, it is the lesser evil. Though I'd prefer to destroy them both if I got the chance, and start over.

It could be similar to the Arishok in DA 2. He couldn't return home to par vollen/ seheron before he'd accomplished his task. The same could be for the whole qunari expedition, unless they finish their mission (probably converting all of thedas into the qun) they can't go home.

I'd rather side with none of them.
But if I had to then I would side with Tevinter, 'cause Qunari are nuts! and my character is gonna be a badass Bloodmage.

Tevinter, but making sure their forces are quite exhausted at the time of the final victory and the subsequent ethnic cleansing of Par Vollen. Then assassinate their leaders during the victory banquet while my forces do a '1204' on Minrathous.
Then a purge of the Magisters and their families. Auto da fé, olé ^_^
Let's face it, Thedas is only large enough for one evil(ish) Empire.

(cackles evilly behind the monitor screen listening to  Karl Jenkins' interpretation of L'homme armé :innocent:)

I would probably side with the Qunari, for the sole purpose as they do not have a lot of magic and thus if they won, we stand a much better chance of beating them. They would be spread thin, limited resources, etc. and could then be driven out.

Tervinter

The Magisters may be tyrannical, but I find the entire Qunari society repellant.

Qunari even if I'm playing a mage. I hope we can become a Qunari in DA3!

I find there to be huge inherent problems with both sides.

However, I think the Tevinter have more of a chance of taking over the continent, and spreading their slavery, as opposed to the qun doing it and spreading their form of it.

So I'd fight with the qunari against the tevinter

Qunari and I would not even have to think twice about it.

The Qunari have the right to live how they want as long as they don't try to convert people.

Tevinter  endorses slavery. I can't deal with that.

Qunari however since I love playing a mage I am not sure that would be the best for me. I just don't look good in a dog collar.

The Tevinter is the prime reason for the Chantry's poor treatment of magic users in the first place.

The Qunari.

I would support what faction appeared the weaker one and let both sides bleed each other to their hearts' content. Then mop up the weakened "winner". The world would be better for it.

Personally? The Qunari. So if I rolled a self-insert, that's what I would go with. Not a difficult choice since I find the Qun very interesting and would like to be allowed to RP a Qunari some time. The Qun aligns a lot more with my personal beliefs than Tevinter does, from what I can see.

Tevinter without questions. Who made it possible for humanity to ascend and dominate over other races? Who is responsible for vast roads and monuments across Thedas? Who fights and exterminates qunari scum? Oh, and acceptance of Blood Magic alone is worth allying with them.

Keep your Imperial money,
Even if its made of tin,
Keep all them crinolines hunny,
The Tevinter'll rise again.

No, Blood Mages, Oh, don't you sit and spin
if we all turn out with a rebel shout
The Tevinter'll rise again

Hall out that armour of yours
I'll tack it up with an Imperial pin
Raise up them spears and axes
The Tevinter'll rise again

No, Blood Mages, Oh, don't you sit and spin
if we all turn out with a rebel shout
The Tevinter'll rise again

Start all them bugles playin
Listen to the trumps begin
Ten thousand men a marchin
The Tevinter'll rise again

No, Blood Mages, Oh, don't you sit and spin
if we all turn out with a rebel shout
The Tevinter'll rise again

Or they could be religious/political/social/militaristic extremists who were outcast by the rest of their more enlightened society, instead of being killed. /tinfoilhat

So you're with the Qunari, because you're against slavery? I'm fairly sure you're confused about at least one of those two concepts.
