Now I'm not against the rivalry bar but I think there needs to be a hate-like bar as well. It would make sense for a character to hate the PC if they perform certain extreme choices that that character is against. It could also allow for more depth in character development. For example having a character that likes the player but at the same time has a rivalry with them. Of course naturally this means the "friendship" side would need to be called something else if the hate-like bar was to be implemented again.
On another note if the bar was scrapped all together and the system from Origins returned I would be happy with that. In another instance maybe rivalry will lead to some hatred this time. Mage Companion: "Oh hey, I'm a mage, I don't like how you've made hundreds of mages tranquil, restored The Templar Order with even more power, preached about your utter hatred for mages in every chance you've been able to, killed my family and caused the deaths of the majority of mages in this world but I love you. Let's have sex."
Inquisitor: "No. **** off."
*Rivalry + 25*
Mage Companion: "Oh Inquisitor! I yearn for you even more now! Please marry me!"
Please no...
