We've talked about this here and there, but I'd like to have a comprehensive thread with ideas about alternative ways to deal with combat. I want your ideas especially if they're not implemented in DA2. For example...

- A rogue in the party can use the cunning skill to try to create a distraction and temporarily lure enemies away from the area.

- A highly perceptive character can detect those nasty, sneaky spiders that keep popping up out of nowhere, with a chance to make them flee.

- Investing money to have the city guard push back against thug gangs.

Your turn. :)

Blood Mages can mind control one enemy to cause a distraction while the party sneaks past.

Character-specific bribes, like in the Witcher. Lyrium for mages or templars, money or alcohol for the city guard, cookies for children and dim-witted templars, that kind of thing.

Good ideas!

I'd like to ask too just how important you consider this to be. Were you annoyed by the waves in previous games? I think it's cool in the first playthrough, but after that it turns into busywork pretty soon.
