Yes! A way to make sure I got my character looking perfect before having to start the game would be great and the Mirror was a brilliant addition. So many times I've played games and realised that one thing just bugged the hell out of me but I was too far into the game to just hit restart. Maddening!

I know, right? I really hope the release something like this before the game is out!

Heh. I love how everyone has some part of the face they can't get right.

For me, my DA:O ladies all suffered from the David Bowie curse. A few hours into gameplay I'd realize they looked like one of David Bowie's many incarnations. It was... disturbing. Where was my Mirror of Transformation then?

ETA: Take a moment to envision a tender love scene between Alistair and David Bowie. This is a thing I accidentally made happen. Please, oh please always have a Mirror of Transformation.

I...would totally watch that.   My problem is always cheekbones.  Every time.  <_<

oui_je_danse, you say that like it's a bad thing! I would watch that too....

But I would definitely like to have the mirror of transformation in DA3, and I would pay for it. I just wished it worked for family members too (which I think it was supposed to, am I right?)

I support strong jawlines and cheekbones. Also lady hair that isn't ten variations of bowl cut. And no damn figeting like Hawke has ants in their pants.

However. to and some DA2 positivity, I did like DA2 noses, in that I could make nostrils wider without making noses wider too.

Oooh, yes! I'd love to be able to play with it and see what I like beforehand. I'm always so impatient when making my first character that I often don't much care for how she looks.  Failing that, a way to tweak in-game like the mirror in DA2 would be fantastic.

Agreed. The mirror in Dragon Age 2 made it funner to roleplay your character aging over time.

I'm a little frightened of this idea; here's why:

I sat in the ME3 character creation screen for a good forty-five minutes before I was satisfied with how my Shepard looked, having gotten her as similar to her ME2 looks as possible. I loaded up the demo to find that she looked NOTHING like she had in the CC.

If they had a little snippet of gameplay following, cool, righteous. Otherwise, I'll probably wait. :c

Ha, that would be the only reason I would use the wrinkly "old person" face in my game, but it seems DA people follow Sims rules of aging, since you seemingly have to be like, 50 or something to inherit a full grey head and wrinkles while your 49 yr old self has more impeccable skin, hair and less wrinkles than a lot of real life 30 year olds.

+1 to this. I like screwing around with a pre-release character creator, even though I usually end up playing the default character, as it is associated in my mind with the character as they are shown in the trailers and is usually higher-res than what the character creator normally allows.

Oh god, yes. Every. Time!

But DA2 was better about this. Hawke looks pretty similar to how s/he looks in CC.

Now DA:O... *in CC* D'aww my elf boy is adorable!  *starts up game*  Jesus why am I playing a guy with a pinhead.

I found that to be mostly true (in terms of DA2), although the makeup for FemHawke always seemed to end up more obvious than what I intended (if I even added makeup besides blush to give the illusion of strong cheek bones). I wish the CC screen wasn't always so dark, and that they wouldn't fidget all the time.

I wholeheartedly agree with this idea, but I think any character creator of this magnitude should have a cinematic, test scene. Nothing too complicated. A small scene where the PC gives a short monologue or an brief, action scene should do it. I too spend a great deal of time creating my character before starting the story. This would help me jump right into the game and, if it was released prior to the game's start (maybe ASAP), it would help us give Bioware feedback to improve it.

In addition, it'd be nice if we could tweak our character at any time to create the "illusion of aging," as another person put it. I will say one thing now: let us choose our casual wear and customize colors when we make our character. I have no idea if things are headed that way, but I would like the option nonetheless.

I would love this as well as a face code system that is in ME2+3.

Yes please. I wanted to play through Origins again over Christmas break here but I spent like 3 hours at the character creator to get buddy on the left here but could not achieve buddy on the left here. I got sorta close-ish enough but I couldn't finish Ostagar because I hated the new face I made.

+1 I support this. And something like the mirror being in the game itself.

I think DA3 is a chance for Bioware to redeem itself in the eyes of some of their less than grateful fans. This would be a nice step, especially if it was released early on for the purposes of feedback.

I'd love them to do a pre-release character creator with the gameplay demo so that I can create my character and then check to see what he/she looks like in-game, since it's not always easy to tell in the cc. Hopefully it would also include a face code generator so that we can easily recreate our customised protagonist and make changes where required.

I spend at least an hour creating my protagonist and then another 30 minutes or so tweaking his/her features (and even then I'm usually not completely happy with the end result), which gets frustrating, especially with my first play through when I desperate want to jump into the game-play, only to discover that my protagonist looks like a complete derp.

I love making pretty boys! please please please please Bioware, give us an awesome character creator!
I can't play the game if I don't find my PC irresistible...I just can't play without a gorgeous and flawless PC, I've tried so many times to play with an average looking PC or with a dwarf but I can't get past Ostagar, I don't know why....It just bothers me a lot when I play with the character that I don't like the looks of.
The DA2's CC was not nice, I couldn't get the jaw parts of the face right, it always either ended up a fat face or a strange looking face. And it didn't have lots of options of editing the face.

I want one! I'd rather have creator + demo like DA2 did, but a standalone creator would be sufficient as well. I second whoever it was suggested face codes. If there's a character creator I'll probably be using it on PC, but I play the game on consoles so it would be nice if I could port the face over. Also, don't do like the Origins Character Creator and make us watch an unskippable trailer first. There's nothing more annoying than having to wait for an ad to go away before you can play something, even if it's an ad for something you plan on buying. People who are using the standalone CC are already interested in the game. You don't have to bombard them with ads!

I completely agree a pre-released CC would be amazing and keep us, the fans, busy enough. To see the frostbite 3 engine in action to create our character would be fantastic!
