I have never loved a thread as much as I have this one. ^^ This needs to be a thing, especially if it can include a Mass Effect-style code system.

That said, I must also echo the statements that the Character Creator DESPERATELY needs a way to see what our character will look like when talking or moving. Maybe a super short scene or just the ability to have the character spit out varying dialogue with different emotions? Sort of a, "Is this the look you want?" If yes, click this. If no, click here to go back. I can't count the times I've gotten SO close and then had to start over due to wonky animations. Sigh.

Or at the very least, better lighting during CC? Please? More natural lighting would help a lot of games in this regard, in my opinion...

Edit: In my enthusiasm, I didn't realize this was sort of a necro-thread... whoops...

They should do that "best of both worlds" thing and include a demo with a functioning character creator this time.

I like this suggestion.

And to add to the hype, Bioware could let the community upload faces to a database, and then if some of the uploaded faces are any good, Bioware could decide to add those to the game as faces for npc's. It should of course be optional if a user decides to upload a face, as well as it should be optional for Bioware to use any of them.

But chances are that there will be alot of good faces uploaded, and Bioware could perhaps save ressources if they had a database of faces they could flip through instead of making a face from bottom up. And the community would likely think it was a fun way to be a part of making the game.

This sounds incredibly cool actually, as does pretty much everything about this thread.

Dream crusher. Do you just go around people's birthday parties pop the balloons and yell "HA! ONE YEAR CLOSER TO DEATH!"?

I would actually prefer a preview of the CC to the demo we got for DA2. I hope we get it again.

I definitely support this if it won't take up too much devlopment time from the actual game. The shadows and lightings in Dragon Age character creations have been a constant source of despair to me. Somehow they always hide these miniscule details that don't become apparent until I get to see my character in the actual game after 2 hours thinking I got everything just right. Or the colour of the tattoos or lips come out completely different of what I imagined.

Bumping this one back to the top because it's a great idea I hope they can find a way to implement.

This would be great. I generally get bogged down in character creation because I want to get things just right. I also hope they include a way to edit your appearance within the normal run of the game, like DA2's mirror in the preorder DLC.

I wasn't in the gaming world really when dragon age first came out...would this be a console thing too?

Make thee happen!

I didn't much care for DA2's Demo. It confused me how we jumped from Fereldan to helping out Isabela in Kirkwall all of a sudden. A CC would make me happy happy. :)

I would be perfectly happy with the CC, or something akin to what they did with Dead Space 3's demo: secluded an area to test weapons, the crafting bench, and some bland enemies.

That's it!
