Should past Love interest be locked out in Da3 for saves with ultimate sacrifice wardens?

Sorry word of gaider doesn't hold the same weight as written text in a dispute between fourmites as you can go either way.
You may not believe someone when they come and tell you I've said something previously, that's fine.
When *I* come and tell you I've said something previously and that your bullying of your fellow posters is based on false assumptions, treating me like I'm some poster who doesn't know what he's talking about is sheer arrogance.
You are on your last leg here. Choose your next words carefully.
I stand by my previous statements, Gaider. If you're going to ban me then do it, I'm not some bootlicking fanboy intimidated by you.

Disagreeing is not childish. The way you are disagreeing is childish. Fact is, he is head writer for DA and what he says (even if you do not like it) is the canon for the DA-verse. You can head canon all you want, but the world canon is what he and the other writers says it is.

Not true. People aren't perfect, and you can't expect the guy to remember every single detail of every thing he's ever written. Whilst he can certainly change the 'canon' of previous DA games for future games, that doesn't change what happened in that game. The ability to express disbelief in the Maker in Origins being a recent example. Whilst future games might claim your Warden did believe in the Maker, that doesn't change what happened in your Origins game. Unless they release a belated patch.
I think that having previous romance options available to romance as a new protagonist would be more trouble than it's worth. Part of the fun is exploring a whole new character and not knowing what makes them tick.

It's true that I have an imperfect memory-- this isn't about facts or what we've done in the past, however. This is about what qualifies as canon, and our intentions for the future. I think even my addled old brain is still good for that.

Agreed. If there was something new to explore with an old character, then we'd be all for it (and this applies to more than just romances). Otherwise, there's no point beyond retreading old ground.

There's a reason Football starts right after Church.
Also, I think I've been spelling vitriol wrong my whole life.

Emzamination was complaining how making an old LI romanceable again would be a betrayal, and how the comics & novels were not canon. David Gaider posts that he wouldn't have an old LI return as a romance and that the books & comics were only semi-canon...
And he's yelling at him why?

Would creating a group called "Posters Confused by Emzamination" where we work together to figure out what the hell she's talking about in any given thread be against the site rules?

You know, sometimes i wonder if she even knows what she herself is talking about at all.
Back on topic, I would advocate new characters and such, for reasons others have already mentioned. Primarily because of the different POVs we have for each game.

I have found that I usually enjoy Emza's posts. Sometimes she goes about things the wrong way, but when she wants to be, she's well-spoken and stands up for herself. I appreciate that in a poster. I think arguing with David Gaider is a lost cause, but I personally hope she doesn't get herself banned because usually I like hearing what she has to say.

Insofar as "providing sources", I don't need to provide evidence of my own statements, thank you very much. I am the source. I determine what is canon and what is not, and am simply suggesting-- very politely-- that you not act towards your fellow posters as if you need to have your assumptions disproven. Having not seen my previous statements, you can either look for them yourself, claim ignorance or state what you'd like to see happen. Those are your options.
I'm just picturing you saying that all Judge Dredd like:

As to the topic at hand, if your Warden is dead then your past love interest is free to do as they please. If it made sense for them to never get romantically involved again, then so long as that made sense for that character, then fine. If they went screwing around with half of Thedas after your Warden died, then fine, so long as it makes sense for the character.
Now, its different if its like Leliana where they magically hand wave away the Warden. Yes, the writers could make Leliana or any other old companion available as a LI if they write off the Warden via disappearance or whatever, but again it would need to make sense for the character. How would that given character react to the Warden disappearing? Would a King Alistair just shack up with some new PC if Queen Cousland was missing?
I'd prefer just having new NPCs and new companions for a new PC. If old NPCs are coming back, I'd definitely prefer they not be LIs as it would either end up like Anders where they're effectively brand new characters for the sake of being new to the player. And if you're going to radically change characters, I'd prefer to see that change happen on screen over the course of a game(s) rather than offscreen like Anders. Or if old companions that were possible love interests did come back with a new PC, just make them possibly locked off as a romance if your old PC romanced them since they might still be together even if the old PC isn't present. And have some dialogue as such to make note of that fact.
