This along with predesignated junk items were annoying.

It makes sense from a lore perspective for items you find to have no name, though.
"Oh look, a ring on the ground. And because I'm mystical and brilliant I know this ring is called The Brand."
Is it nice to have nothing but unique articles of equipment with their own names? Absolutely. Does it make any sense? Not even a little.

They could, however, describe the objects like "Leather Banded Belt" or something. I think that's already that much better.

Although yes, it is always nice when someone unpacks their adjectives.

It makes about as much sense as all the exact stats the gear gives you, or how you know which rings you want to wear to swing your sword more accurately. If you really want to be hardcore RP, no stats in the game should be visible to the player.

That's why we need the lore skill and to pay for appraisals of items otherwise.

Not every ring has to be a Ring of Thundering Power, and not every belt has to be a Girdle of Flaming Dragon Dung. Just something to help us sort them out. It was so confusing and time-consuming to try and figure out what equipment was what. Especially when the biggest difference was between +1 to attack and +2 to attack.
Honestly, I hope that they cut back on the items in general. If they aren't interesting, why have them? They could maybe put the more mundane items in a shop, but I'd love to drop all of the +1-3 attack rings and replace them with a couple interesting items (say, a +5 attack and +3% critical chance and damage. Another ring could be +3% attack speed, +5% damage. Or whatever, I dunno).
Y'know what would be really interesting and cool but probably over-the-top and not a priority? Having certain items grant abilities. Like, a fairly powerful staff that deals cold damage actually grants the mage wielding it the Winter's Grasp spell as available to use (or upgrades it if they already have it) for as long as it's equipped. Or unique abilities. Like a Hammer of Thunderbolts that deals extra lightning damage and has an ability that calls down a bolt of lightning on one target (or every target in a small arc or something) with a really long cooldown.

I just sold all items called "ring" or "amulet". The entire game DA2 stank of nondescript situations and locales. Nothing to see, might as well move on to the next quest placed in precisely the same area.

Call them instet Cat or Dog?
Sometimes a Ring is just a Ring, or shod the dev´s be more precise like "wooden ring" or "ring pulled out of a nug´s rotten ass found in a dragon stomach that got defeated after 5 time reloading without any specific magical values".

Item description please...some reference to something/someone or an easter egg.
Some had it but a LOT did not....
This also goes for finding torn trousers and stuff..no more of that junk..could never understand why someone would take it with him anyways

I wouldn't mind it all that much... if there just wasn't such a GLUT of them in the game. It seemed like every enemy you killed had a generic ring or amulet.
A naming convention like in Borderlands or Diablo would be cool, where it customizes the name based on its attributes. That way you could at least have some idea of what is what.
