And please for the love of the Maker. I don't want to find any 3X damage rings.

I once saved everyone I got from each act. I got 33 of them.

I also got 19 fire damage rings too

I miss the descriptions for the unique rings/belts/weapons/etc more. Sure some of these should just be called "Gold ring" or whatever. But the background on the unique things were really cool.

I guess this is as good a place as any to say that I would like for item descriptions to return and more names for loot, but also to be able to inspect and compare them as I pick them up.

I'd be happy if 'common' accessories (as opposed to accessories that have some significance/codex entry) were labeled in a way that made it easy to determine what function they served. Like, instead of having a list like:

Iron Ring
Iron Ring
Iron Ring

Maybe we could get some:

Iron Ring of Fire
Iron Ring of Dexterity
Iron Ring of Cunning

Where maybe material (in this case, Iron) determines tier grade? So an Iron Ring of Dexterity wouldn't be as stacked as a Steel Ring of Dexterity, for example.

This way, you could take one quick look at your inventory and determine what accessories were essentially 'junk'.

I spent way more time routing through my inventory in DA2 than I would have liked. XD Making the value of an item easier to distinguish would help me cut back on wasted time. I mean, if you've already been playing for 3+ hours, it becomes easier and easier to forget the properties of that iron ring you just scrolled over... ;-;

The pre-designated "junk" items are the only thing I have a problem with. That whole ideology just undermines the entire point of an RPG. If you are going to create items that are completely useless on purpose, then why not just cut out the middle man and give us GOLD instead of the item in the first place? If literally the only function of the item is to sell it for gold, then why not just cut to the chase?

Personally, I'd rather see Bioware take it in the other direction: A variety of items that all have their usefullness if combined with the appropriate skills/other items. That way we can, you know, make decisions as the player. When you streamline things by telling us "this is junk," doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of a game based around building and customizing your own character? I really hope DA3 doesnt' take it one step further by just automatically equipping all of the "best" items we pick up...bleh.

Big Item and Little Item have an item but it's not really item. It's just so smurfy that item and item are an item but I so wish it were I, Tem.

I like how in the good old times mage characters required stat points to know what rings/items were and warriors had to purchase that knowledge.

I don't care if sounds cheesy/lazy, but Ring of Fire or Ring of Ice is way easier to manage in my inventory compared to 'Ring'. I'd rather they go that route.

I would love to have a Ring of Fire in the next game.

Its from a time when the Bioware fantasy department had massive amounts of creativity.

Actually useful names would be very nice. And not spamming us with tons of randomly generated magical jewellery would be nice too.

In DA2 I usually couldn't face sorting through all that rubbish to work out what might be useful, and ended up just stuffing almost everything into the storage chest.

Guild wars 2's sorting system for crafting is something I'd like to see in DA3. That way the names wouldn't be very important, and people could find items based on their appearance and location on the table.

The Ring of Gaxx is from Eldritch Wizardry (1976) by TSR. It is one of the rings in D & D (named for Gary Gygax). Bioware's creativity had nothing to do with the items that are found in BG. Those items were already created Bioware simply implemented them in the game.

Codex/Item Descriptions would be nice.

Barring that, a naming system that actually demonstrates what bonuses are conferred would be greatly appreciated.

Diablo 1 mastered this system in 1996. I find it difficult to believe something could not be done that mirrors this.

I loved that a really useful sounding item (that book the Keeper Marethari gives you) is junk.

I lost it with that one.

Between the infamous reused maps, instant turn in "side quest" and this, DA2 had so many lazy, rushed designs that made it mediocre. I hope to God they learnt their lesson and will have sufficent time and resource this time around.

I am a lazy gamer, so give me descriptive names. When I have 20 "Rings", that means I have to hover over all of them to get the stats. Gets rather tedious and confusing when adjusting party equipment. So if this is the "Ring of Fire +2" then I know right away who to give it to or to sell it.

Ok, next time they will be named "Fingerband" and "Pants-tightener" instead.

I suppose it's not much different than "gold ring" or "leather belt", but you could find these items everywhere, and most are basically vendor trash. Perhaps there could be less items dropped, but more with an actual name and better stats? Quality>quantity?

How many belts, rings, etc did you pick up in DAO vs. DA2? How many were useful in DAO vs. DA2?
