SPOILERS:

I'm about to finish my second playthrough of ME3. I just landed on Earth....my husband wanted to watch football so I just saved and got on Youtube because I haven't spoiled myself on the newer extended cut endings yet.

Wow. I am officially a hypocrite. I say this because I was a staunchly interested in having  a "good death" to save the Galaxy. I didn't care how- at least let me die to win if necessary and give me a good ending and let me know what happens a bit afterwards. An epilogue.

Now that I've seen the variations that would apply to my Sheps- I'm just thinking...I want my Shepard to survive. But I know that really doesn't even make sense. Shepard had so little chance of surviving this entire time anyway and she made the final decision to save the Galaxy. But but but..:( :crying:

I'm going to have to read a novel with an HEA to get me out of this post ME3 blues . At least ..the galaxy was saved.

I'm gonna build a time machine, and I'm gonna make you whole.

Who did you romance, by the way?

If you pick Destroy with a high EMS, Shepard survives.

Totally understand how you feel. Even if you sacrifice yourself for everyone it just doesn't feel like you saved the galaxy or anything. It sucks, I know. Hope you feel better soon.

The time machine: probably the best Valentine's gift ever :wizard: lol

I have multiple Sheps- this particular femShepard is my canon one I suppose. She is absolutely in love with Kaidan. My other femSheps romanced Thane :crying:
My sole maleShep romanced Liara ;)

I didn't realize there was a survival of Shepard possible- if that is the case I might have hope for this ending (which I will be finishing TONIGHT). I am not sure though- my military stat is only 5000+..I think it's 5800 or something and my overal readiness indicated by the green progress bar is 98% IIRC.

You only need 3100 to get the breath scene, so with over 5000 you'll be fine.

That's one way to speculate.

That doesn't sound like a last breath to me. That sounds like a "waking up from unconsciousness" breath. I never understood that speculation.

Destroy destroys all synthetics.

Shepard is partially synthetic. The part of his/her brain that controls memory almost has to be synthetic (after ME2). Even if he/she did survive, it may not be them anymore.

Shepard has adapted/healed enough so that the synthetic implants aren't necessary any more?

He could of also not been affected by it at all becasue the crucible was good enough for it to have no affected him.

Then why include it at all?

Also, in the Destroy ending, Shepard's LI doesn't put the plaque on the Memorial Wall.

I think MegaSovereign is demonstrating some sarcasm

Hence the quotations.

Let's not get into this "breathe scene/Shepard Lives" debate....again.

It's quite obvious. Anybody that has a lick of common sense and understands visual storytelling, perfectly understands that Shepard in fact survives.

If people want to be in denial or just want to believe that he dies so that they may have yet another reason to bash Bioware....then let them. No reason to waste your time arguing with a brick wall or somebody that already has their mind made up.

No worries. I wasn't referring to any specific person. I knew you were joking lol. Just sayin, debating the significance of the L.I memorial wall/breathe scene with those that choose to deny the facts(as well as their own 2 eyes)....well, I've found it to be quite pointless. I'd rather discuss something in depth and understand someone elses logic....but such a discussion on the BSN is hard to come by these days, and so is logic lol

The whole ending is such a fustercluck that the writing team can't decide in consensus if Shepard is alive or not in HEMSD. EC only makes it worse by wrecking the once great lore twice as hard and giving you a slideshow on some old Street Fighter 2 ending shizz. You're better off with barebone ending, at least then you can just ignore ghostkid killah and lolhandcannon your way to sanity.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and speculate that the breath scene was added by people who didn't write the ending. Hence the damnable incoherence of it all.

that's exactly what happened....on a much more epic scale lol

Lt. Victus sacrificed himself by disarming a bomb, in order to save Tuchanka(or atleast the Krogan/Turian alliance)

Mordin sacrificed himself in order to cure the Genophage(and secure a Krogan/Turian alliance)

Shepard sacrificed himself to save the entire Galaxy and give it a new beginning free of the cycles that have been controlling galactic events for eons. He gave the galaxy an actual future for the first time since ....well, ever

I knew he was being sarcastic, but I was just voicing my opinion on the matter.

Also, does pressing Shift+Spacebar screw act as a Ctrl+Z on anyone else's browser? Because it's really ticking me off right now, and it only happens here on social.bioware.com...
