I completely agree with you here.  I really don't understand how Ali and Leli get what they get from what the PC actually has the choice to say.  I much prefer your ideas.

Mind you, unlike apparently everyone else, I actually felt kinda bad for Goldanna.  I wanted an option to tell Alistair that people aren't always going act as you want just because you want it.  They have their own reasons for doing as they do.  And the feeling of family belonging is different for various folks as well.  He's had time to build up expectations...  But that doesn't mean she's going to feel instant warmth towards him when he arrives out of the blue like that.  (Quite leaving aside the "is she actually his sister at all" questions that arise from the novels.)

Can I just give a virtual shout-out to everyone who played this game with the "violent" voice-set before I received my copy and posted here in the forums about the high annoyance factor, for saving me from having to rip the game CD out of the drive, smash it into ragged splinters and use them to puncture my own eardrums?  Seriously, thanks.

My most irritating:

"Dwarven crafts, fine dwarven crafts, direct from Orzammar."  STFU, Gorim.

"Magic exists to serve man and never to rule over him."  Why does the nutty old bat always seem to be saying this line every time I pass her by?!

When I'm reading the epilogue cards and listening to the dramatic music, I can still hear the dog scratching and sniffing.



It's actually quite distracting, and I don't know why BioWare didn't freeze the dog's idle animations when you head for the door to greet your awaiting audience.

I know I'll get bashed for it, but if everyone's complaining about dog, I find Schmooples a lot more... unnerving... I mean the noises it makes.

Unless you're a human noble, you don't have to have Dog in your party. You won't get the helmet to complete the Effort armor set, but you won't have barking in camp, either.

Also, there's a mod out that quiets your faithful companion.

It is startlingly like real life, though. There you are, at home, getting intimate with your significant other, and suddenly, there's a cold, wet nose someplace a cold, wet nose shouldn't be. You get used to it, after a while.

Edit: And I won't bash you for it. Schmooples annoys the living hells out of me.

I agree with you on 2 and 3, number 1 on the other hand amuses me, and I kinda like some of morrigan's snide retorts, but the "sooooo, full of questions are we" line is annoying.

I also never get tired of  "Dwarven crafts, fine dwarven crafts, direct from Orzammar.", probably because I think Gorim is awesome.

And I totally forgot the noise Shale makes when he walks. I only used him once for his quest, but man, the STOMPSTOMPSTOMPSTOMP grated me to no end. For people who play(ed) WoW, it reminded me a lot of the Core Hound hunter pets from Molten Core. EEEEP.



And Alistair said something like "your desire is my command" when you started to talk to him, which I found really annoying. After I almost cheated on him with Leliana and he made me choose (I chose him), he stopped it, luckily.

okay here is not so much the lines...but why oh god why do the NPC's feel the need to crowd the crap out of the PC when you move or try to open chests/loot bodies.  I can't remember how many times I run up to the chest/body to loot and *boom* dialog pops up with the NPC's.

hehe. not exactly irritating, but i like when the player refuses to take Leliana along as a companion but she meets up with you later and Alistair says like "She's more 'ooh pretty colors' crazy then 'muhahaha im princess stabbity stab stab' crazy."



as for annoying, that damn song leliana sings is just godawful. I just dropped my controller and left. Isolde is annyoing too. And some of Morrigan's remarks got on me. and sten questioning everything i do. Duncan's brushing aside of Flemeth and Morrgian kinda bothered me too.

Hehe, I like it when Morrigan responds with an annoyed sigh or by saying "What now" after she's just joined you And at least you don't have to listen to an entire speech when talking to Sten

Right now, my female City Elf (wise) keeps saying "Have you no concern for your own existence?! "
