The biggest worry I have regarding MP in DA3 is if it would inhibit modding the game. I use a lot of mods for DA:O and DA2 (From hair styles/color to Adonnay weapons, up to things like Dragon Age Redesigned, etc.

I hope they make MP so that we can still mod the SP Game.

Here's a link to a modding page for ME3. As long as the mods don't affect the multiplayer its okay. I'd think this would be comprable to DA3.

Be realistic.
That's what you'll get: Horde Mode or Team Deathmatch.Maybe both.

Of course you'll have to pay with real money for consumables.

Looking at Mass Effect 3 -- yes that kind of crap is what can be expected.

I like it how you imply that the only way to get consumables is to use real $$.

why are so many people hostile to the idea of MP?

Its going to happen even if you loathe the idea of minor social interaction, and a good Multiplayer increases the replay value and the fun factor of the game (increasing profit)

so why not actually give positive feedback and suggestions to get the modes you would like to play?

Remember the countless hours you used to play with your friends some old mario kart and golden eye?

Multiplayer is a great and wonderful thing (if done right) don't turn your backs on it

Can only speak for myself on this point but, the only reason i got angry with the ME MP was because it had an effect on your overall single player performance. This would also be the reason im a little nervous about the DA3 MP.

How is this official?

This.

This also bothers me.

Because it is in all caps. Its a thing from the ME3 multiplayer board that someone said once and it kinda stuck. Thats all.

But... the word has an actual meaning! ARG! Brain hurt!

So wait... the drawback to a multiplayer option is that it inhibits modding? Oh ok... I don't mod, so I don't care. Heaven forbid you can't change around a game that people spent years trying to develop, lol.

Has no one linked to the Kotaku article from last year? http://kotaku.com/58...ing-multiplayer

There was at least some truth to this, in the engine being used. We all get to be dragons. Whee.

Apart from a co-op campaign I can't imagine a multiplayer mode that fits Dragon Age. I guess if it's a mage-templar war then there could be a versus mode but that would require a lot more creativity to get fans interested. I can't imagine anything like the mass effect multiplayer because there isn't a group of enemies that are uniting the races.

Nice! Since November 2011 anounced and even the frostbite thingy! Where the heck was I? -_-

Single player campaign should not be touched ... BUT .. should be used to give hints about the MP arena. Like having NPC talk about such a treasure on this cave that could only be reached in this "MP area" or with this "specific" char not controlled by AI.

I/f the player decides to chose such a sidequest, he should be log into the network and selecting it looks either for a quickmatch event or a friend invite request. after they finish the quest and receive their goodies, everyone continue their single player game. Ok never mind, is like a Co-op but specifi event.

For many player to join in a particular room, I suggest big war scenarios like final battle of Lord of the Rings type of scenario where player take control of different sectors.

Just saying ok...and I want to breed my own pets in the game, like a dragon ok... -_-

Back on topic

Things that could help the multiplayer a lot (and Frostbite 2 should help with those)

Is Environmental Hazards, in the form of:

Weather (using Rituals to change weather on a team favor, like morrigan suggested)
Destructible Environment (cut tree, tree falls and breaks Bridge)
Electricity/Ice + Water (Fire + Oil/Flammable surface)

and yada yada yada

If these elements where somewhat random they could add a lot of replay value to otherwise limited multiplayer content

Co-op. Not like ME3 but quest co-op. Maybe have unique adventures for MP? Maybe they could tie into the story? Like, we're apart of the Inquisition and we must complete quests? Build our characters up with customization like ME3's MP? Pick race+class combos and give some combinations unique spell/abilities similar to ME3? Something similar to SWTOR would be awesome but on a much smaller scale(obviously). I'd love it to be like BG2 as others mentioned also...that's ideal.

For some reason the idea of MPing a musical number entered my mind after reading your post, deuce.

I request the multiplayer mode where I have some friends over, we have pizza and beer, and we switch off playing the main story. I think that would be the best way to do multiplayer for a series like Dragon Age.

You know what I would like to see?

Objective-based team vs team play. Templars vs Mages, playable with either bots or players. They could have a few different classes of templar (melee, ranged, defensive, offensive, etc.), and they could have specialized mages to fill various roles (armored earth mage, force mage, elemental mage, etc.).

Have the templars assault a keep that the mages are trying to protect. Have the templars try to escort an NPC from location A to location B. Have the two teams race to get to an apostate, one side to kill it when it turns into an abomination, the other to save it before it can become an abomination. There's a lot of interesting possibilities for team vs team.

I wanna pwn in the form of a gay fire breathing dragon. Totally pwn. Only Bioware can make that a reality.

As long as it has no effect on the SP version and doesn't suck away resources for it, then co-op wouldn't be bad.

I have never ever been interested in pvp of any sort whether it be in a rpg or a shooting game so tbh if DA3 came with a MP that you had to do to unlock things in sp i would not buy it simple, i can put up with alot but i wont put up with that.
Now i dont mind a MP option to the game, tbh if origins had had a coop based option for the campaign id prob be sitting here unwashed and a beard grown round my ankles, that said thats basically all the multiplayer i am interested in in any dragon age game an thats co-op

Have the whole MP experience set in the fade and have graphics that are similar to (but better than) the facebook game, and have some sort of co-op storyline which is somewhat related to the main game, and provides bonuses to your SP character when you go back to the main game.

It could even have the leader of your group change for each big decision and allowing everyone to chime in on conversations, thus evading the issue of having just one person conducting conversations with NPCs

Actually, I just tried singing through his post, and oddly, it lends itself to music quite well - even rhymes every couple of lines... :whistle::D
