Who cares if they were lying or not? They have little reason to lie now. I'll admit it would've been nice to know they were glitched in the first place, but it does make sense that an armored enemy and also the only "cover buster" for the Geth shouldn't be able to be grabbed over a counter.

I agree. What if we can still grab them, but their feul tanks blow up on us for doing so?

That always could happen. And it's hilarious.

Well, all I know is that sometimes i lived off of grabbing many geth from behind covers because they were always so silly in doing so. Now, that pyros are ungrabable it is gonna make things a lil more difficult.

No, it wont make anything more difficult they are slow walking enemies who move in a straight line most of the time and have an exploding tank to target on their back.

And they can drop a player with high shields and DR at longer ranges than their fire animation shows or over cover at close proximity. It may not make them way more difficult, but it will indeed make them more difficult.

A lot of people keep mentioning how this change doesn't make Pyros more difficult than usual, therefore, the change is negligible.

That isn't the point.

The problem is IF my suspicions are correct and this change was made in order to further deter farming just as the other Geth buffs were, EVERYONE becomes effected.

Rampant farming is hurting our community. That's my point in a nutshell.

So all you Billy Badass' out there who used this thread to vocalize your awesome, "I'm so good at this game and you suck because you're not me" skills find another thread.

"EVERYONE becomes effected" marginally. So no. The sky isn't falling.

So many TERRIBLE changes have been made to the Geth for the sake of stopping farmers and now THIS.  The extent in which farmers have been able to dictate the gaming experiences of SO MANY OTHERS is appalling.

I could be wrong, but the prevelance of farming on FBW makes it hard for me to believe otherwise.

It seems to me they could have put a damper on White farming by simply forcing a spawn point outside the back door when people are camped at the desks. All the buffs to Geth haven't stopped the farming, and I don't think the no-grab Pyros will stop it either. Having Primes, Hunters, Pyros and GRTs flanking from behind would do the trick. Then, all the buffs could be reversed and Geth would be playable on all maps by all classes. Am I missing something?

Yes, you ARE missing a point. There are objectives on FB:W close to the camping spot. How does the game decide wether it´s camping or legimately playing the map on U/U and getting an objective there?

For what it´s worth, I don´t really care ¨how it´s called...fixing, buffing...what matters to me is that in practical way, geth are becoming once again slightly harder, which I think is somehow ridiculous at this point.

You do realize that the Prime's drones were supposed to shoot missiles right?

Yeah, I just upgraded that idea. Cause shooting just another bunch of missiles is boring  :innocent:

Wait...you just described my regular match against geth(minus the drone rocket) :D

cuz pyros are

Too hot to handle, too cold to hold
They're called the Geth and they're in control
Had 'em throwin' a party for a bunch of Quarians
While all the while the Prime was under the building
So they packed up their group, got a grip, came equipped
Grabbed their pulse rifles off their back and they split
Found about Sovereign, the master of evil
Try to battle Shepard? That's not legal

OW!
UH!
Yeah I think this is gonna be another one of those deadly ones
Heart, soul, s-s-survive!

Well I guess Harbinger gonna have to take control
(all on our own)
If it's up to us, we've got to take back home
(all on our own)

I don't think that's enough justification to keep the Geth at their overbuffed level. I would be very happen to deal with that additional spawn point IF, at the same time, the Geth were debuffed to make them comparable to the other factions and, consequently, playable on all maps using all classes. It would certainly make U/U/G a viable search option. As it is, the chances of getting dumped into an "in progress" G/W/G farming game are high. You don't know who you're playing with, what levels they're at, if they are kitted out properly, etc.

If Pyros are too heavy, why can't we grab Phantoms over the cover?

'Cause they'll cut your hands off and sell them to a Hanar.

Either way, I hope those good-for-nothings ****ing scramble to kill the Pyro units before they get to the counters. I hope their farming experience becomes as miserable as ****ing possible, and as a result they either quit or toughen up to play legitimately. Meanwhile, we will continue to actually fight the Geth and other enemies as we always have, prospering in most games, while struggling in some others, having an enjoyable time throughout. We earn our Credits and Experience Points, and in turn we earn our Weapons and Characters.

I play all sorts of games but when I farm with friends this isn't going to be an issue at all, forgot my tin foil hat today but looks like another attempt to drive people to buying randomised packs for $$$.

Also, earning credits and experience? How much experience does a level 20 earn after a game? And how many level IV ammos are you going to receive unloocking an UR?

Farming/grinding is just using the most efficient way of spending your time for reward, by all means set your own goals and live to them, just don't expect anyone to give a damn about them. I would consider platinum speed runs the best farming method, FBW is just something a lil more realistic for most folks.

As for Bioware lying, no, I wouldn't believe for a second anyone at Bioware would intentionally lie.

This still happens. Whenever I'm on Firebase White, I run to the landing just in case of upload there and guess who spawns there. Combat Engineers with Turrents and Rocket Troopers. It already does it so having another spawn in the back wouldn't change anything.

Just saying...

I'll play devil's advocate and say they are an armored unit, the only armored unit you could counter grab. It also has no ranged attack. The idea with pyros is that you should take them out at distance, not at close range. So MAYBE (big maybe) this was their intention from the start.

If they have trooper sized units that can't be grabbed, we should have Krogan sized units that can't be grabbed or stabbed.. Also, if something sync kills a Batarian, that blade armor should take effect.

this is actually an effective way to stop FBW, while also not hurting legit players.

I don't know about the rest of you but the 1% of the time I play Geth, Pyros never even come within 30 feet of me. This "buff" changes nothing but FBWGG.

Play FBGhost and get uploads or even extract against Geth... solo. Then talk to me.

Seriously??? Farming is now cheating? First of all, I have farmed and will continue to farm but it's not always FBWGG. Second, I don't always farm. Third, even when I do farm my friends and I do scenerios and we set the challenge outside the Br/Si/Go/Pl settings (Turians squad on Condor vs Reapers Gold is always fun and will be better now that Banshees don't have space magic).

Point is farming is effective and often times boring but the keyword is effective. Untill I have a Saber X, I will effectively play MP.

FBW is the only map where you'd have a reasonable chance to actually grab a pyro anyway.

Well, maybe glacier as well. Either way, it makes sense that Has Armor = No Grab.

Geth are not nearly as hard as you make them out to be, especially considering they don't have grenades and they gave a couple races stagger resistance. Makes the Kroguard own geth even more! :D

You could grab pyros on:
White
Dagger
Ghost
Giant
Glacier
Reactor
Condor
Hydra
Jade
Vancouver
London

Vancouver is the easiet grabfest, the rest are dependent on opportunity provided.

Doesn't matter if it was intended or not after Thursday. Deal with itB)

I've grabbed on Rio too, not just Pyros though.

I like how most of the good design choices come from errors - boss headshots were not intended, Pyro grabs were not intended...
