I doubt the cover is official. Looks pretty plain. But here it is - They are probably just assuming it will be for this gen.

True I just really hope it is for 360 so it could have an import option.addiction21 wrote...
Maybe it will maybe it won't but its always best to wait for confirmation from the developers of the games then some third party.

Plus, with the carryover data and people switching systems (going from Microsoft to Sony for example) it would make sense to keep it on current gen consoles anyway.

Keep in mind IGN knows as much as you do currently. We have not shown anything to the press yet and their cover and any other DA3 news is as much speculation as what you all are posting here.
Will we know more about the game this year?

Possible, but I think it unlikely.

To clarify: I'm mocking "convention season" (not Bioware) Why we need so many conventions to hear pretty much the same things over and over and over I don't know.

Because when information goes out, it doesn't assume that everyone out there will hear it the very first time it's released? The only people who pay attention to every single bit of publicity, and who get annoyed when it says things they already know, are the sorts of fans who hang out here. Ultimately, the majority of publicity isn't really intended for you guys (if that wasn't already obvious), just as marketing isn't really intended for people who already know about the product and are sold on it.

Not to mention alot of people like to quote you guys out of context so the need to reiterate information is essential.

Holy cow, my post got a response from David Gaider! (geek out moment)
Anyway, I see your point there. I suppose I hadn't really thought about it beyond "blah, blah, I already know this already, tell me something new!"
