Aren't all of these guys quite a bit older than Shepard is supposed to be?

Though I sometimes think Shepard is unrealistically young - are there many real-life naval officers, even very good ones, who become XO of a top-of-the-line ship at age 29?

NO thnx, this might just get me to start disliking ME, can you imagine him saying any lines at all from Commander Shepard, he's ok, but serious roles should be kept away from him, he does good with some suspense and mild violent films, but this no.if it was a parody he could play FemShep, that would be both the most Awkward and funniest thing i have ever seen.:mellow::lol::(:pinched:

You know, I will be in the minority here in saying that I actually like him. He might be able to pull off the paragon/renegade aspect of Shepard (he was great in Face/Off), but I don't think Shepard really suits him. My opinion: either Matt Damon or Liam Neeson or whatever hs name is.

I actually welcome a video game movie that's not meant to be taken seriously at all.

So basically, a film like all video game adaptations ever.

Not exactly. Most game-based movies are meant to be taken seriously. They're just done terribley.

I'd like to see someone buy the rights to make a movie about a popular game, and just TRY to make it crappy. Y'know, for the lolz.

For once I agree.

Yeah a movie would be horrible. Look at how bad Max Payne turned out, that movie is awful and Mark Walhberg Mila Kunis were horrible casting choices. I wanted to bash my head into a wall after watching it.

Mass Effect will probably end up in development hell like the Halo movie.

No, Shepard is about the right age for her/his command. Canonically, s/he enlisted at 18. Two to four years is a reasonable time for a commission, and if s/he was promoted regularly (which, considering both the need for officers and Shepard's history, is believable and likely), that would put her/him squarely in the early thirties, late twenties. Remember, Shepard is career military, not contracted enlistment.

Now what's harder to believe is a 25-year-old senior NCO. That, and the VS rapid ladder climbing.

All Shepards got some noteworthy achivements under their belts.
Such things can propell a person or officer faster through the ranks than sitting behind a desk.

Some are very good at the desk art though, with good connections.

Mark Meer is the only actor worthy of playing Shepard.

I'll be here all night.  Along with Cage's prominent Widow's Peak.  Image IPB

Serious answer, though:  I think Sam Worthington certainly looks the part of (male) Commander Shepard.  I've only seen him act in Avatar, however.

No, the solution is full CGI movie with customizable Shepard. Worldwide online release; with your ticket purchase, you enter your face code and it generates the movie with your custom Shep.
