Edmonton is finally getting it's own large scale fan expo, the Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo! This year they will be bringing in celebrities like Adam West, Nichelle Nichols, and Biily Dee Williams along with comic book and other entertainment guests and BioWare will be joining in the fun.

BioWare will have a booth in the exhibit, so make sure you drop by booths 903 & 1003 to interact with our BioWare staff along. Staff at the booth are always happy to talk with fans or sign things, but we have some specific signings planned as well:
  • Saturday 1pm-2pm Mike Laidlaw, Mark Darrah, David Gaider & Jon Perry
  • Saturday 2pm-3pm Special Guest Mark Meer, Mac Walters, David Gaider & Caroline Livingstone
  • Sunday 2pm-4pm Special Guest Mark Meer, Mike Gamble, Thomas Perlinski, Leo Lucien-Bay, Scott Mitchell, Patrick Weekes, Nathan Matichuk & Billy Buskell
We will also have 4 panels at the ECEE:
  • Saturday 12pm – Dragon Age: A Look Ahead with Mark Darrah, Mike Laidlaw, David Gaider, Matt Rhodes and Jon Perry
  • Saturday 3pm – Voice Acting for Video Games with Caroline Livingstone, Mac Walters, David Gaider and special guest Mark Meer
  • Sunday 11am – How to get a Video Game job with Leanne Korotash, Chris Pangrass, Neil Thompson, Janice Thoms and Fernando Melo
  • Sunday 4pm – The Mass Effect Universe with Mike Gamble, Thomas Perlinski, Leo Lucien-Bay, Scott Mitchell, Patrick Weekes, Nathan Matichuk and Billy Buskell
We will have staff hanging out at our booth during the rest of the convention and we're happy to talk about BioWare, Mass Effect and Dragon Age. We hope to see you at the Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo. :)

Would it be possible for you guys to record this? Because I'm nowhere near Edmonton. It's 2000 miles away from me, give or take.

And what really interests me is the DA panel and, more importantly, the "How to get a Video Games industry job" panel.

Sounds exciting! Wish I could go!
But considering that Edmonton is 2000+ miles away for me as well, I hope there will be some type of podcast or recording available at a later date.

We are investigating recording and releasing the panels. It isn't official, but we'll see what we can do.

I know the DA team is thinking about showing somethign specifically for our crowd in attendance, so I don't know if we'll be allowed to film or not.

I hope this is not the case :(.

The Dragon Age panel is the one im most interested in and would love to see it streamed. I also think showing something off to the crowd exclusivly is kinda cheap to say it nicely. I mean understand giving out free goodies to the people who come to support Bioware and I am cool with that but showing something exclusive to a group of people because the rest of us dont have the funds to make a 2000 mile trip, or cant take that time off of work just doesnt sit well with me.

Just my opinion.

Sorry MoD, we always show cool things to those people who attend. Plus, BioWare is proudly an Edmonton based company, so showing something to our Edmonton fans is rather apt.

That does not mean that whatever is shown here will never be shown elsewhere, but there are benefits to actually attening events like Edmonton Expo, New York Comic Con, GameX, Paris Games Week & MCM London.

Well couldn't you record it then edit out the exclusive thing? Then upload it to youtube later :D

Couldn't you just record the event and then release the video a set amount of time after the convention. This way people in attendance still get to see the exclusive things first but the rest of us will also get to see it sometime soon. Is something like this feasible?
If I sound pushy I am sorry I do not mean to. I just dont want to miss out on something exciting because I cant come to Canada. I have supported Bioware(my favorite game company BTW ;)) since I first played Dragon Age Origin a few years ago. I would love nothing more then to leave college for a week and come to Canada for the Expo.
On the plus side my girlfriend and I are gonna try to travel to a comic con after I graduate. These next two and half years better be quick T.T

I want to see the "special thing" now. Especially so.....now that you brought it up and all.

Maybe some BSN folk can infiltrate and bring back some info for us? Plz? Some fuzzy images even? Hey, every lil bit helps. I just don't feel like waiting around for BW to figure out what they're gonna do.

To Stream, or not to Stream..."

Personally, if it were me, I'd be trying to stream every Con I could. Anywhere my product is at, and being talked about, I'd want as many ppl to know about it as possible. Stream and Youtube.

Psh, whether you're recording that "something special moment" doesn't matter. Someone else out there will be.

And yes, this should be taken to mean that this person and you (Bioware) are totally in bed together.

Stuff will always leak. The people at the panels are dedicated fans so would probably post on the forums if they saw something anyway so there's no secrecy really unless you get everyone to sign an NDA. (even then people will probably break it).

I wish I could go to this! Only a few hours away and yet the lack of a babysitter hinders everything!
