YOU FAILED. That is the bottomline. The game did not fail. You failed the game.

Im sorry but this game was horrible. I sent $114 on a collectors addition copy for the 360 and quit after 20mins.
Some problems that I peronally found:
No first person view
The whole team idea.I dont want to worry about 5 characters at once.
NO JUMP FEATURE. Which means restricted areas.
WHAT HAPPEND TO FREE ROAM??
Bland characters
Always doing quests is boring, you cant even attack friendlies
Really i expected a game one to challenge Bethesda. Oblivion is BY FAR the funner game. Giving the rpg player that what they most desire FREEDOM.
Getting around is horrible and slow
Really anyone that has played Elder Scroll Iv or even Morrowind would agree that this game failed.
Im not trying to be smart or anything. Honestly dissapointed with the game. I know however many people do like it and i respect their views. This is just my PERSONAL opion
From Wikipedia: In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[2]

"Stupidity cannot be cured with money, or through education, or by legislation. Stupidity is not a sin, the victim can't help being stupid. But stupidity is the only universal capital crime; the sentence is death, there is no appeal, and execution is carried out automatically and without pity."

I love games such as Oblivion, DA:O, Fable, etc. and someone pushed me into buying ME1. I never played a shooter before, but everyone raved about how awesome the game was. I gave it three chances, and it became one of my favorite games, ever.
Try and play through a few of the origins before making a decision. It doesn't have the freedom of sandbox games, but there are other aspects of the game that make playing it worth it.

you heard 1 character in oblivion and morrowind you heard them all.
first person view suck why would they do that, when i played morrowind and oblivion i played it third person.
da:o is far superior to oblivion and morrowind more engaging

it IS free roam dumbarse! you just didnt get far enough in the game!
Actually, if the op means what I think he does, no it isn't.
In Oblivion and Morrowind, if you want to walk over the edge of a cliff, you can. Your pc may die, but you can walk over the edge.
In Lothering I attempted to have my pc walk *over* a hill. Not a cliff, just a hill. I couldn't. She had to go around it.
Both Morrowind and Oblivion allow you to walk through the edge of
lakes. Or go into the water and swim. In Morrowind you'd better watch out for the slaughterfish, but
you can go into the water.
In the Wilds at Ostagar I attempted to have my pc walk through the shallow water at one point, only to get hung up and be forced to back out to go around.
That never happens in Oblivion, or Morrowind. Generally, if you can see a place, you can get to it somehow [with the exception of the "borders" of the game world]. You can't go everywhere in DAO.

Topic: What does Dragon Age lack to be perfect?
Post: Dragon Age is perfect for that which it is proposed to bee: Single Player, story driven, tactic RPG! (those who don't get emotional at the end, having rp'ed thru the game, have some stone heart or that of a powergamer, but even a powergamer like me is touched by this game. If anyone, ever, got emotional by the ending of Oblivion, I will cut off my "sword" and give it to the cats to play, just like softie Sten did!
Anything lacking in Dragon Age is not rally lacking... it is the comparison to other games:
Those who wants Open World, playes Oblivion, Risen, Gothic. (Fallout 3 - Oblivion sci-fi tranvestite which I hated)
Those who wants more of a D.A. style playes Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect.
Those who wants multiplayer playes either NWN permanent worlds ou MMORPG!
Nothing stops someone from enjoying them all. I myself played them all and each one of them have their virtues and great value.
There will never be one game that has it all in one and thanks for that. Because it would be extremely boring if all games were just the same. Diversity is Great!

Also the game is awesome and nemanji sounds like kind of an idiot for this and all other (obvious) reasons previously described.

Compared to the world design of Morrowind, Oblivion, or Fallout 3, Bioware's DA:O is like a high school computer project vs. the goliath of in depth hyper detailed world crafting. And Fallout 3, even as large as it is, still looks incredible on consoles.
But Biowarre makes interractive choose your own adventure movies/games not open world simulation rpg's and each style has it merits. The characters and dialogues of Bioware games are far more engaging than the ones found in Fallout 3.
I love all these rpg's for different reasons and each developer has their flaws but those flaws don't stop me from enjoying awesome games.
Where the f*** is Return to Ostagar anyway? /ooops ...

I played Oblivion and all it's predicesors and love Dragon Age. The main problem seems to be you had not the faintest Idea what you where buying. It's not like they made a secret of it being a story driven party based RPG in fact for many of us they where selling points.
This is a great game if you like party based, story driven RPGs if your looking for a single player sandbox like Oblivion then very obviously it won't be what your looking for. At least have some idea what your buying next time. It's not a bad game by any means in fact in manyways Dragon Age is amazing but it's obviously not the type of game you can enjoy.

I have played both Morrowind and Oblivion and I've enjoyed DAO the most. Just maybe you should had done more research before spending more than 100$ on a game.

Whenever I read topics like this I just have to laugh. I cannot fathom what is going on in your brain. I've played Elder Scrolls and Oblivion. Yet I disagree with you. Anyone who has played BG, NWN, or any of the like will agree that DA:O did not fail. Oblivion and the Elders scrolls are not RPGs. They are hybrids. Shooters in an RPG setting. Do you realize that you are complaining about how an RPG is not a shooter?Nemanji wrote...

Hi, I'd like to complain about my motorcycle. It totally failed. I mean, two wheels, wtf? No rear view mirror. I have to use the tiny mirrors on the side. No 4-wheel drive means limited access. WHAT HAPPEND TO THE AIR CONDITIONING? etc.
Listen to yourself. "Doing quests is boring, you can't even attack friendlies". hahaha! What were you expecting, seriously?
