Slowly adding in the information from the Edmonton Expo as it filters in. Stay tuned!

As I've been collecting this over time, and from a variety of sources, it occurs to me that some of the info may be mixed up, misinterpreted, or just wrong. If anyone feels like doing a little fact-checking, I'd be happy to make corrections where I've misquoted or just screwed something up.

Good piece of info! Thanks!

Added it in to the Protagonist section.

I mention the PAX Panel multiple times. I highly recommend watching that, and here's the link to it:

You've put a lot of effort into this, thanks.

For a readable and quotable PAX East panel, please see my transcript here on the BSN (also linked in my forum sig.)

Also, according to this Gamespot post it will be released late 2013. BUT they don't provide an actual quote, and the Mark Darrah blog post they are referring to through most of the video doesn't have a release date.

Epic! I considered transcripting it myself, but realized I'm far too lazy. Thanks for that! I've updated the OP with a link to your transcript.

Kudos to the write up. You did include some of extraneous stuff like

It's been assumed, by many, that the protagonist will be an "Inquisitor", but at this point, that is purely speculation and has not been confirmed or denied in any way.

Has not been confirmed or denied. This thread is about what we KNOW. The whole write up does not belong.

Here's a list of characters, and what (if any) connection they may have to DA3.

70% of what follows this is merely heresay and sources are not cited or actually confirmed in any way.

Like I said, glad you went through the work of putting it together, but people will respond to some of it with their opinions, particularly things claimed or stated without cited sources. Don't want this to turn into an argument thread.

Shameless bump and demand for sticky since I just had to comment on a thread asking for a thread like this to be made.

@ OP

Something just came up about approval/disapproval system that I thought was interesting and you may want to add:

Dragon Age ended in DA: Awakening.
DA 2 did not happen and DA 3 will not happen, for me. Why? Because I don't like any of the info released so far.
Anyway, thanks for this post. Now I am sure that Dragon Age is dead and Bioware/EA won't receive a coin from me again. But yeah, Origins and Awakening were great and this saga had potential. So bad they ruined it all in less time than the time they invested in Origins' development.

David Gaider has also confirmed random kisses for LIs.

I agree with you, largely. But I also wanted to take the opportunity to dispel a few things that people THINK we know, but don't actually know. So many people seem to be under the impression that "The PC is an Inquisitor, FACT", I wanted to take the opportunity to point out, "No, not fact". Same with the companions. A lot of people ask "Will X be in DA3?" and I wanted to provide the closest thing to answer we have.

Any chance of a direct source to the quote? I'm hesitant to just use screenshots, in case people want to actually reference the original. There's no date, time, board, or anything. But I really like that, and want to include it.

Agree 100% with this. I was disappointed it was a screenshot. It's not hard to save a direct link to a post, I have dozens of Bioware quotes bookmarked =/.

But to add to that, he did state that more interaction, or more freedom of interaction, as in DAO, was a goal of theirs for the next game, at PAX East.

Q: I was more curious about character interaction. It was way awesome in Origins, but so-so in Dragon Age II.

A David: The actual volume was the same, but how we divvied it up was quite different. A lot more interaction in DA2 was in the follower plots, the followers had like three big plots each in DA2. Meh... because you had the time jumps right? While DAO they had like one small quest, so more of the interaction was just talking to them at camp, that sort of thing. I think looking at the reactions to the two games, I think a lot, some players, felt they that didn't have agency over their interactions with the followers; because there was less of them and because we had this feature that "told you" when they had new dialogue. People felt like they weren't responsible for initiating that dialogue. So, OK, cool. Hearing that, it's like "OK, agency is important." So I think what we'd like to do is bring some of that interaction back into just talking to them at the camp, giving your follower a kiss if you want, and asking them questions; but also still having as much of the character arc growth for each follower that we got, that we did get in DA2. I think that there is actually a middle ground. And I just want to give the players a little bit more of a feeling that they are the ones in charge of their relationship.

Sorry, it took me a while to find, while I had the screenshot saved. Here you go.

maybe as information comes in it might help to add "added 11/2/12 to the new entries or something.. to help determine the latest info :)  on the home page.

More stuff, vague but reasssuring (which you either didn't have, and that is good): http://social.biowar...773874#14774012

Or you already have this info, and this is just a pointless bump (which is also good, I don't want to see this disappear into the bowels of the locked "bisexual" LI threads on page 54, or something)

This^

Another idea would be to have a "latest info" section at the top, which gradually gets replaced with new stuff.  Whatever you decide to do, thanks for the effort.  I'll keep sending any new info that I find your way.
