No worries! There's so little information being released right now, I'm always happy for a bump.

Sorry for slow updates, but as you can tell, there's not a lot to know, just yet.

Add this DG has stated that no previous controlled NPC will be under your control in DA:I

No, he said that " any character that is now an NPC is definitely no longer under your control". In other words, if a character is included as an NPC in DA3 that was not an NPC previously, you will have no control over that character.
The question remains, did he mean to imply Hawke/Warden there (since all other characters, even party members, are NPCs, thus "no longer under your control" only applies to Hawke/Warden), or was he just making a more blanket statement about head-canon, and how you don't get to decide the fates of these characters in your imagination anymore?
In either case, I'm not sure that's news. I frankly can't think of any other way it could be done.

I don't think BW has, but I think EA is currently demanding MP in all games.Aolbain wrote...
Have they even hinted for MP? I more got the implication that it would be some online-integration, like a place where you could show of your characters and your progress through the game.
Not quite. EA is asking that all games have an online component. Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2 both had online components (being able to upload screenshpots to the BSN, redeem online codes, etc). Dragon Age 3 will have some form of online component as well, but nothing we can discuss yet.

Thanks for the link, although I don't think it's any different than what we already knew.

(Yes, I'm still here. There just hasn't been much new info, so I've been quiet).

I don't know whether this was meant as a joke, but being serious, there were at least 20 non repeated maps in Dragon Age, including the whole of hightown, lowtown, docks, sundermount, wounded coast, deep roads, gallows etc. That is one large map.

I still believe it was a slip-up in words, and what he was saying is that every content map will be at least as big as the biggest one in DA2.

I've been hearing some complaints about the idea of having multiplayer in DAI but I'm looking forward to playing it with a bunch of my friends and showing off our character builds.
That's assuming you can use your customized Player Character from the single-player campaign in multiplayer. You couldn't use your customized Shepards as playable units in Mass Effect 3's multiplayer co-op mode.

Indeed. If they let you do that, we'd have another Diablo II on our hands. The Teryn of Whatever wrote...

In that game, the entire multiplayer setting was skewed because EVERYBODY used character hacks / equipment mods / etc. to create their single-player characters, then import them into multiplayer. People that tried to play "vanilla", i.e. a non-hacked character, just got absolutely spanked. It was (from what I've been told) both brutally awful and a spectacular sight at the same time.
I mean, you had a community of uber-powered god-like avatars trying to find every way concievable to one-up each other, which is I'm sure an intriguing thing on its own, but I don't want to have to do the same thing just to participate in multiplayer.

Thank you very much for making this summary of known fact about DA3, it's very informative and well organized. It's well done, indeed.
Thanks! Once the information starts flowing out at a more rapid pace, I'm sure this well be a headache to keep updated, but I'm willing to try!

There's no such thing as dominant tone any longer. Tone exists for roleplaying choices in the tone wheels-- that's it. We don't track it. As I said, options off the choice wheel are neutral-toned unless the tone is already implicit, and any auto-dialogue (I'll use that phrase, since it seems to have stuck) we need to use is also neutral-only.

Very interesting news! Hopefully this means there will be less disconnect among the different tones, as well. I personally hated the dominant tones in DAII (and I wasn't a fan of the voiced PC, either), but this seems like a good way to give the player more control while still keeping tones when appropriate. Looking forward to seeing it in action!
