How does one request a stick then?

Ask and ye shall receive.

Or, you know, you shan't. There isn't a formal approval process or anything, its just if you ask or a mod believes it is sticky worthy.

+1 to the sticky notion.

I love reading this thread but it's always so hard to find.
Maybe it'll get updated more if it's stickied.

Gimme a sec, I'll ask someone. Could take a little while for it to actually be stickied though.

Personally, the thread about the Frostbite 2 engine could be taken down, it it were up to me. It's a very established fact and also one that is covered as something we know in this thread.

Sticky means hitting 200+ pages and turning it into a nucleic acid double helix (emphasis on acid) of doom with >99% junk, but give me a thread like this over BW let's talk about kossith LI any time. We'll get icons again, appearently.link

No ninjamances!

Lines that lead to romance in DA2 and Inquisition are marked with different icons. Don't click the hearts, and you will avoid accidental romances.

Not really news, since it's exactly the same as DA2 (as Mary Kirby says). But I'll take what I can get these days. :P

OP updated.

A sticky would be nice. However, I added it to my "favorites" in case this thread drops off the face of tomorrow.

Not much, but someone took notes at the Thedas Unlocked panel of PAX East.
  • The comics are huge foreshadowing and the content will be touched on in DAIII and beyond.
  • There will be good mages and we get at least one who isn't crazy.
The rest is mostly about the Frostbite engine and doesn't direct touch the final game except that maybe the dragon's fights are doing to suck because the engine doesn't like winged quadrupeds (with swords!?!).

Interesting. Thanks for the link.

Would love to see a video on the DA discussions.
I hope everything is going alright with development, I noticed they said implimenting conversations and armor customization in Frostbite was very difficult.

It's nice to know that we may get another 'Wynne' type mage. I would prefer it to be a male, since we've only had 1 Male mage party member(Minus Finn since his role was so small and brief) in the whole DA series.
Not that I want another wynne replica, but it would be nice to have a more level headed mage. I understand Anders struggle but he went to the extreme.

Looking forward to more info on DA3!

Interesting. But it's just vague enough that I'm not sure how to include it in my original post.

Oh well. We'll just sit on it for now until more is revealed.

I'm guessing they aren't referring to Isabela or Varric's personal flashbacks, but DA:I heavily hinging or dragon's blood and ancient magic?  Yes please :wizard:

And that makes two of us >.<

Well they did implement it, as far as i understand, but i hope the armor designs are something good this time around.

(Although i highly doubt it :pp)

The Warden, The Warden-Commander, and Hawke: The previous three (two and a half?) protagonists may yet play some role in DA3, but nothing has been confirmed or denied. Considering their seeming relevance at the end of DA2, it seems likely that they will at least be mentioned. At the PAX Panel, it was mentioned that if the Warden appeared, it is likely that you would have some control over how the character was presented, and that the issue would definetly be handled with care.

A while ago, I actually asked if it would be possible to meet the GW in the new DA game (as a NPC) and this is the response I got :? :

I know this is obvious but this confirms there is a PC version.

I know there was never any doubt but it is a bit of information to add to the OP I suppose.

Can someone be more specific about companion interactions with the protagonist?

I just recently started playing DA;O along side DA2, and I'm realising very quickly that I prefer DA;O's dialogue system LIGHT-YEARS ahead of DA2's. Not necessarily the dialogue wheel, but just talking to your companions.

One of my biggest iffy factors of DA2 was that, by the sound of it, Hawke only has about maybe 3 or 4 conversations with their companions every 3 years. Only JUST finding out details of their lives during this time. It was idiotic at best.

In DA;O, I could ask my companions about whatever I wanted, when I wanted. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Sten talk about the Qun, about Alistair's love of cheeses and the Grey Wardens, about Leliana's bardic stories or about Wynne's time in the Circle. These aspects, however small, made me fall in love with these characters. I ALWAYS go through them in every playthrough, I'd really prefer to see this or something similar to this, come back in DA3.

It means that yes, we're probably going to be able to kiss/hug/slap? our companions whenever we want, as well as having less "story arc" conveyed through dialogue and more through personal quests, thus leaving room in the camp (or castle?) for minor chit-chats like those we had with Morrigan, Zev and the rest of the gang in DAO.

I'm actually very interested to see how they're going to arrange that kind of dialogue on the wheel while still maintaining the "left=investigate/right=push the conversation forward" thing. They're going to need a hub section.
