I hope that there will be a list of specializations to choose from instead of only a couple.
I also hope that all the "romance-able" character will not be bi, but hopefully it'll be more like DAO with some bi characters and some straight only characters to choose from.

David Gaider said, basically, that in his ideal, perfect world, all the companions would have their own preferences. Some would be straight, some gay, and some bisexual. They would behave more like a standard cross-section of people.

But he also said that given budgetary restrictions and fan preference, they will likely be doing the "everyone is available for romance to anyone" thing again for DA3. From a pure economic standpoint, it just makes the most sense.

See what I did there?

No. DA3 will have all bi/playersexual LI's unless an equal number of straight/bi/and gay options are available for both genders.

The only problem I had was one dialogue option w/ Anders. He hits on Hawke (and I was playing LadyHawke) and the only response options she had were essentially "Hell, yes." "Yes." and "Go **** yourself." A "Thanks, but no thanks." would have been nice and I have to stress this isn't about the rivalry points. In fact I think it unrealistic to not gain rivalry points even if you let him down easy. What I didn't like was that it bordered on auto-dialogue, the bane of the RPG (IMO).

thank you so much for keeping up with all this :)
hopefully E3 will have tons of news for a good lengthy update to this thread ;)
I'm looking forward to it and I personally just can't wait for the game. I have high expectations that I know Bioware can and will deliver. I myself have been keeping up with it all since the first mention of the third title. I see that this thread has mostly everything covered from what I know besides little details from sprint review day and little bitty hints you find here and there.
this post I stumbled upon on tumblr may have a couple of things you might have missed. (I'm not sure, I didn't sit and compare the two) BUT it may have a thing or two, sources are even included.

According to David Gaider, there will be no dominant dialogue tone in DAI:

"Correct. The variances based on dominant tone were for the choice
wheels, not the tone wheels. If you picked a response off the tone
wheel, the tone of that response was already determined.

At any rate, that was for DA2. Dominant tone no longer exists for DAI. So it's a moot point."

There was no reference to it in the Dialogue System section of the OP, so either Maclimes hadn't heard of it or that info hadn't been sufficiently confirmed.

I asked Laidlaw, on Twitter, about High Res textures for PC in DA3.  He replied with this:

"I was pretty happy with how that turned out, so certainly hoping to do it again, if not just bundle them directly on PC."

I don't know how to link to a Twitter reply so I would point you to his comment about System Shock 2 on May 12th.

LMAO how you put it....

I think I mentioned this once on the "eww, I'm a dude and Anders hit on me" forum posts (don't remember which one, there were a lot of them).

I had other problems with him in general, mostly because I think a certain person who wrote his romance arc basically decided on "Edward Cullen, but bipolar b/c demon possession"

Always considered doing a spoof video where I go around using some of Anders's romance lines, (I would drown us in blood, etc) and get reactions.

Though I am hopeful about the autodialogue not making PC sounded psychotic and having to save all the time before a convo. B/C the autodialogue frankly made MHawke unplayable. Jo Wyatt wasn't as extreme, and I think that needs to be what they strive for in order to make voice work better, so I can be snarky and aggressive and not make it feel like multiple personalities.

It's looking to be the same garbage as DA2. Forced to be human....again. I guess i'll be writing this game off, or waiting for it to hit the bargain bin like I did with 2.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Humans are pretty boring in this universe. I miss my DA:O elf. *sigh*

I'm tired of the humans-are-the-superior-race trope.

I wouldnt mind seeing non romanceable characters like Aveline. I liked having companions who were just friends

Now that the date has been pushed back to fall 2014, does anybody think things will change at all? I would love to be able to bring the Orlesian Empire to its knees, save the world from something, and do whatever else, all while being a Dalish Elf.

Nope, I'm here. I was waiting to see if any other info popped up from E3 or related tweets and tumblrs before I collate it all.

I went ahead and updated the OP with the scant info gleamed from the Trailer and presentation at E3.

Once all the info from chat logs, interviews, panels, and videos is available, I'll add it all together and update the OP.

Also, mods, can I get a sticky now? Please? I'll do your dishes. Like, 3 or 4 of them.

General Information

The name of the game is Dragon Age 3: Inquisition.

Thank you, Maclimes, for creating and maintaining this thread.  Boy, what an undertaking!   I too, would like to see it stickied...  (Thankfully I have it bookmarked so I don't have to wade through endless threads to find it...)

Just a quick note:  I may be wrong, but I think "3" has been dropped from the title.  Now known as "Dragon Age: Inquisition"

Again, thanks for your hard work... :-)

Ah, good to hear!  I was saddened when I thought you had quit updating.

Edited a few areas that contained outdated or incomplete information, cleaned up a little bit of formatting, and corrected the name of the game.

Does anyone have ANY other information? Was the trailer the only thing we got from E3?

Aaryn Flynn seemed to shy away from DAI having a multiplayer aspect when asked about it at E3 by Geoff Keighley, and said their focus was on making a 'very powerful singleplayer story' with the Inquisitor at its heart. But nothing was definitive, so I'm not going to jump to conclusions either way at this point.

The full interview is here, it's an interesting accompaniment to the trailer:

David Gaider said in his blog that Maevaris, the magister mentioned in some of the comics, will not be a party member in Dragon Age: Inquisition. The wording doesn't necessarily exclude an appearance, but who knows?

Can I make a request to the OP? Stop saying the game will be so large that it may include other regions like Nevarra, Anderfels and Antiva. The game will take place predominantly in Orlais, and a place in Ferelden. Yet another one of those things Bioware like to do often - not definitively say will be there, but teased us with such exciting possibility to draw attention. #lies #intheknow

Thanks! I'll try to watch that this evening, and add in any information I can gleam.

What's your source on that? Because as you can see in my post, the "beyond Orlais" is directly supported by what is said and shown at the PAX Panel. It may change, but the only definitive information we have says that it will (at least partially) include these other areas. If you have a more recent source that definitively states it will NOT be outside of Orlais, I'll happily change it.

Well okay, since you're drawing all information from legitimate or official sources, feel free to do so.

It's more of a complain from me than anything. At that stage during PAX there were still in pre-production and exploring possibilities, so they may be considering going beyond Orlais then. I just hate the practice of enticing us fans with big statements that eventually turn out to be untrue.

Anyways, I believe in the reliability from my source, it was a leak directly from Bioware a year ago, known to only myself, which includes all plot locations in DAI, amongst other things. Only Orlais and a place in Ferelden. Take it or leave it.

Maclimes, I think it would be nice if the new information that you update was in a different color of text. And maybe add the date that it was updated. It makes it easier to find new information when you've already read the post a few times over.

Forgive me if I don't trust your "Bioware source". Unless you have some better evidence, how are we supposed to assume anything other than you're completely making it up?

The last indication we had was that DAI would include locations in the Free Marches, Ferelden, Orlais, Nevarra and potentially parts of Tevinter.

Mike Laidlaw also tweeted a picture of something he was working on that included the area of northern Nevarra/southern Tevinter close to Solas.
