Female Turian? If that's true then all female aliens (sans the asari) must love wearing hoodies.

That character looks female to me. And it looks Turian.

The placement of the mouth is clearly visible, with the nose and eyes being hinted at but not as clear as the mouth. There appears to be the Turian facial things sticking out from the chin, those are definitely not just a result of blur. It appears to be feminine in nature, but I could be wrong.

It's definitely not Asari, human (human jaws are not that pear-shaped), elcor, volus or Krogan. It's civilized and wearing clothing so it's not a Vorcha. No mask so not a Quarian. No flashlight so not a Geth.

Through elimination, I think we can conclude that it's either Turian, Salarian or Drell. Facial flanges suggest Turian. And I'm seeing a lot of femininity so I conclude female.

That's basically my train of thought on the matter.

It doesnt look much like this does it? (Abrudas - a female Turian)

So I guess in the Mass Effect Universe, if you're not human female or an asari, you need to where a hood?

Anyone speculate that Shepard's looking at the Elbrus?

Impossible, the Elbrus has an exposed gun turrent and ''forked wings'' unlike the ship in the holographic display.

Well, that ship is an Alliance dreadnought (or at least it shares the same model).

did someone say earlier that female turians are trouble?  I don't really know too much about them... anyone want to share?

and if the little fella was salarian wouldn't the hood be wider to accomodate the head horns? :P

The holographic display is not oriented the same way as the ship in the comic book illustration.  In the hologram, you are looking at the ship from the port side.  You don't see the starboard side. In the comic book illustration from the wikia page, you're looking at the ship from the top down; the port side is to your upper right and the starboard side to your bottom left which allows you to see the "forked wings".

Even though, we should be able to see the small "Stick" of both wings on the starboard side and the Exposed Main battery is still missing.

Maybe it got upgraded with extra armor to protect the main battery. Also, hasn't Bioware said that how something looks in the comics might not look likr that in the games.

I see some rod like things, or at least one.  Look in the red circle.  You also have to bear in mind that we have  small image.  Maybe when you see it in the game you'll see it better, if they are there.

A quick visual comparision proves however that the Ship in the holographic display has a greater visual simularity to a dreadnought then to a Cerberus cruiser.
