LOL! I'd like to watch David reading a stupid thread and see his reaction too!
Oh AND I'd like to see Chris Priestly's expression when he's trolling us!:o

I suspect that it resembles the devil face he always signs his comments with.
Unless that's what his expression looks like all the time.

David is a lead writer so he has to have connections with the forums so he can prepare things other programmers have no time for forums when a project is started whatever you think.

And this, my friends, is why coding in interpreted languages suck. No compiled test runs, no justified slacking =(

I'd ram my head through a wall if I was an animator. That looks like one of the more tedious jobs as a game dev. By god, how do they find the willpower to do that?

It wouldn't hurt Bioware for them to knock this one out of the park though...

Are you serious?  There wasn't nearly as much pressure back then; if any at all.  DA2 + SWTOR + ME3 = the most pressure the company has ever been under.

Yep. DA3 is basically going to break this company's reputation forever if it's not perfect. It may even be too late; maybe that's what the Mass Effect trilogy release is all about. Testing the waters to determine the extent of brand damage.

No pressure guys. ^_^

ME3 and to a lesser dagree DA2 says otherwise.

*yawn*

15 minutes isn't going to ruin an entire game or franchise for me. ME3 was the best game in the franchise from start to finish. The fact people still discuss ME3's ending and how bad they think it is just goes to show you how many people actually care about the game. Nobody is complaining about Borderlands 2, Fallout 3, or Rage's ending? Why? Because nobody cares about those games. They have no emotional attachment to the universe, characters, or story. If they did, you'd see that 99% of gaming today has infinitely worse endings. The fact people still discuss the ME franchise today is a success in itself. DA2 is NOT a bad game. Had it came out before DAO, it wouldn't receive half the criticisms it gets.

They'll be fine. They seem very passionate and love their coworkers. The little info on DA3 so far has been very positive in my eyes.

Nobody is complaining about those games because they probably don't have garbage endings like ME3.

Then they have already lost, since it's near impossible to make a perfect game.
About the ME trilogy, I don't know how much it'll sell, but having all the dlc in it would've increased the sales.

I think they've already shown they can continue to screw up and still sell their games. Everyone has a talent I guess. :P

Do they stand to have people they know, possibly friends, lose their lives if they produce a bad product? Pressure is a relative thing, but perspective can sort of undermine that with a sense of proportions to the likely consequences.

indeed. "Perfect" is such a subjective thing, I don't think anyone will ever have a perfect game. but if DA3 is more like DA:Origins and Mass Effect 2, and less like Mass Effect 3 and DA2 I'll be happy Ultimately I think it comes down to - If EA stay out and let Bioware do what Bioware do best with a long enough development cycle (Remember DA:O took what? 4-5 years?) we'll get a good game.

It's not hard to picture. I roll my eyes, turn off the forums, and go do some work. When the idiocy on the forums is turned up to 11 (today it seems to be hitting about 10.5), I just spend some time away and don't read them at all. The forums are great for feedback and all, but we don't need them for development... it's not like we're hovering, waiting for someone to tell us what to do.

heh, I come here just enough to notice that on an average to good day its at about a 10...on a 1 to 10 scale...

I bet when you guys came up with the BioWare Social Network idea you didn't realize there would be so much more emphasis on the BS in BSN.

I would friggin kill myself if i had to read this demoralizing crap day in day out.

Haven't read anything beyond the title.

But I have an idea:

"Cater" to the crowd that bought the "RPG of the Decade"  Dragon Age Origins.

Then let's see how it goes.

I wouldn't mind being on the DA team as a writer, even if I was there as a newbie one.

It would be an interesting learning experience, both personally and professionally. Give me some much needed insight into how a video game company/studio operates -- or should operate or whatnot.

And hell, pressure is when I've done some of my best work, so it wouldn't be (much of) an issue for me.

Well, that probably comes from the fact Bioware has such an invested fanbase for itsgames, its both a good thing and a bad thing. having so many people throwing out so many ideas I imagine there has to be at least some days when somebody has come up with something here and you guys have gone "that is awesome lets have that!", and other days when you hit the patented Picard Face Palm with so many voices yelling at you, often loudly it must be really hard to see the good ideas in the oceans of bad ones and then there is the Corperate Overlords to please of course.

Ultimately you guys don't need our imput to make great games but its nice that you do take the time out of your days to come here and include us in that process just a little.

Really? I loved Mass Effect 2. maybe because it was my first Mass Effect Game (PS3). Mass Effect 3 was a solid game too but  I enjoy ME2 more, ME3 just had too many times for me when I didn't feel like my Shepard was really My Shepard anymore and I kniow thats subjective. too much auto-dialog, too much content held back for DLC and the Abortion of an ending just really felt like a Falcon Punch to the Testicles which is why I rate ME2 higher.

Why I...

But I...

I...I thought your sole purpose was to make the game I wanted. You hurt my feelings.

Interesting. This is my reaction to the Internet, in general. If I've ever posted anything eye-roll-worthy on here, it was totally on purpose.
