they are going to have to overcome the fact many people are saying if DA3 isn't good they won't buy another bioware game.

They already said that about DA2. "DA2 was crap so ME3 better be good or I'm gone FOREVA". Either they meant it, and they're gone, or they didn't, and DA3 is totally on their list.

Comparing Dragon Age to Mass Effect is a little risky anyway, as they are managed by different teams. Overall business practices may be the same writing endings, engine complex ability, characters... That's separate.

Personally I'm hoping for Goldilocks and the Three Dragon Ages. First was too hot (drab, complex, long-winded), second was too cold (cartoony, simified, reused environments) but with what hey' e learnt from the Previous two, the third will be juuust right.

Gotta admit, it was pretty creative.

Pfft, the same people were saying they'd ragequit Bioware if ME3 'wasn't good', and the exact same people will be threatening to ragequit if ME4 'isn't good'. Their threats are meaningless and should be treated as such.

Most people just throw around hollow threats and buy the game regardless. The COD:MW2 "boycott" is a prime example.

The few past releases have affected my opinion of BioWare's games and thus I won't be preordering DA3 or getting it on launch day. I'm going to wait until I see the critic and fan reaction before buying.

I love BioWare, and I think they've made some great games. However, some of what I perceive to be bad design choices within their games mean that I haven't liked games like DA2 or ME3 as much as I thought I would. As such, I may wait a while after DA3's release and let the price drop rather than buying it for full price.

I don't consider this to be additional pressure on the developers, I'm just being an informed consumer.

I, OTOH, thought Dragon Age: Origins was too simplistic and lacked complexity.

Le sigh.

The analogy to the three little bears itself made me laugh; the parallels he used could have probably been anything (since it's his opinion)

Same here. I loved DA ][, but if Bioware made basically a DA:O2 with literally everything the same but the story and perhaps the setting, I'd be overjoyed.

And longer this time. Much longer.

I'd like a better game (with improvements and such) of course, but yeah, I'd take DAO 1.5 if that was what I was getting, and probably enjoy it. The gameplay was, if not perfect, at least fun, so it doesen't really need changing.

Which brings me to one of those questions that occupy an idle mind in wee hours of the night: When choosing your language on BSN, why is there Canadian flag next to English language yet French flag next to French language?

Much obliged.

DA:O was like a reveletory experience for me, my first kind of "original" (in ways, in ways. Almost purely stat-based combat, heavy exploration and very heavy dialog elements) RPG.

ME2 was the first for me, actually. My first RPG I ever really understood as an RPG (and I can tell you probably don't like it, so llet's not argue over that:P). I played it for approximately 1/4 of my life for the month after I got it.

Ah, I understand your question now.

Well, where is Bioware at? West or East?

Just checked google maps. In the west. That's probably why. Quebec is the big french-speakers, no?

Fan rage is a dangerous thing for those who believe that ''We will quit as so many Bioware game's as of late have been medicore'' is just hot air.

While it's true that many of these people do not quit, a lot of negativity they spawn punches game sales hard and what in return punches Bioware even harder. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that even though ME3 had wonderful intial sales ( why would it not, people where over the moon with all the hype and promises just like with DA2) ,it all went to hell once the ending fiasko, combined with horrific pickup missions, autodialogue and so forth became more public knowledge.

Short and simple, fan RAEG is dangerous, even though often people dont actually quit as they promise.

For myself, I won't be buying the game till I see the user reviews. Most of the people who play DA that I know in real life (bout a dozen) feel the same way.

Pressure on them. While all developers have pressure when making games they have to deal with the fact that  the ME3 ending fiasco and DA2 (they were given a tiny time limit so I don't blame them) they are going to have to overcome the fact many people are saying if DA3 isn't good they won't buy another bioware game. Also the fact that even if it is great people are gonna scrutinize it like it was horrible. I have high hopes that this game is gonna rock. Since DA2 wasn't great (I liked it personally) because they were given such a small amount of time to make DA2 that they couldn't make it great or make a decent amount of different areas (instead of recycling them so much). Anyways anyone agree they are under so much pressure it is insane.

I'm hoping that pressure will help them strive towards excellence.
