They should be aware of wht the fans thoughts are on some of the most egregious issues that they have made in prior games
ex.
be aware that no happy ending in a game is not well recieved so there should be an option - debatable - a not-so-happy ending can be done well, and accepted (at least as canon and default - it sometimes works if the happy ending is a very difficult one to acquire, Metal Gear Solid did this well)
destination matters as much as the journey to many fans - debatable - most Dragon Age 2 criticism has the feeling that there was no journey in 2. It was sitting around one place without anything dynamic in the process
overuse of recycled environment and enemy spawns are annoyances - on this I agree. especially on the spawns - DA could definitely do with less MMO/WoW in their game
Squad banter is awesome - depends on how well it's done and how likeable are the characters - I'd say they were either boring or cheesy in 2 (though still awesome at times, yes)
Varric and Morrigan are very popular - it does seem like this. but how much is this of importance? I'd certainly not want Bioware doing another "chummy buddy" character as was Varric, if for no other reason, then the unoriginality of it
romances and LI are very popular and have a huge audience - The most popular opinion seems to be that they were overdone in DA2 - nobody wants a Bioware dating sim
Tactics were missed in DA2 - yes, though I'd say "strategy"
Combat speed was well received in DA2 - No.
Auto dialogue and story railroading as done in DA2 and ME3 are not popular at all - I'd agree
People like pretty things, hairstyles, armor, clothing, elves - ok
Sexy is not always best Ashley ME3 but done right and in character Isabella DA2 is welcome - it's mostly boring and cheap in my opinion
I think they should have an awareness of what is being said but also stay true to the story because if it is a worthwhile story worth telling then that will show in the finished product Even ME3 had a story worth telling that pleased everyone until the last 10 minutes
Why bring ME into this? DA2's faults were not so much in the ending as the whole - and the franchise would definitely need more distinction and a niche of its own than simply following ME's formulas.
But a lesson should be learned from the reaction to those last 10 minutes and not the one they think. The fans are stupid is not the lesson. The fans just don't get it is not the lesson.
Maybe the destination needs to be worthwhile, worth getting to or no matter how good the rest of the game is theres no point when there's nothing worth fighting for. DA2 was not good (in the humble opinion of many)

Does anyone else get the feeling that Bioware just wants to see other people? It's like the fans of old fashioned RPGs and to a lesser extent hardcore PC gamers are Bioware's creepy ex, and they just can't accept that Bioware is dating fans of more mainstream games now. They should just move on with their lives, but instead they keep creeping on Bioware, leaving harassing messages on their developers' Twitter feeds, and review bombing their games on Metacritic.
DAO 3.79 million, .39 million PC
DA2 1.45 million, .29 million Pc
dao is the more mainstream game

Mainstream isn`t about the income, but rather the contents.

Honestly, how hard is it to take the choices associated to a wheel and convert them to a list? Comon dude.
Non-trivial. We're not just flipping a switch. It'll require time investment from programming, GUI artists, QA, and even probably even writing (depending on how long the actual, spoken lines can be).
I know that this will require extra work and money but it is very important for us so please reconsider as it would make a great number of people happy and also make money for Bioware.

Well if they don't listen we will get another ending like ME3. I Guess It is more of a matter of which fans do you listen to ?
I have made my views clear and they are contrary to others .
I can not really answer that question because there are people on here that I hope Bioware listens to including myself and there are some I really wish I could take the delete button to.
I am sure there are those who feel the same way about me .
On a side note I don't know why people bash DA2 in some ways i enjoyed it better than origins they are both good games.
Although I do think the writing team needs to watch Return of the Jedi again... that's a Proper way to do an ending.
I think the Catalyst was an Ewok. A short being that ruined the end of the trilogy.

It is not about revenue it is about profit margin. DAO was in development for roughly five years what were the costs involved during those five years. DA2's development time was roughly 18 months. The question is how much profit did each game give EA. DAO sold more copies, but the question is how much more did it cost to make. The same with DA2. That is where the real analysis happens.
If the profit dervived from both was roughly the same DA2 becomes the better investment of time and money.

It may make people happy, but not necessarily make Bioware/EA any money especially if the costs to do it outweigh the potential revenue. If the costs outweigh the expected revenue and therefore profit it is a non-starter.

I do't think it had anything to do with listening to fans, I think Bioware went to extremes by listening to fans but also removing important things from their series like RPG elements, Story and characters and immersion.PinkDiamondstl wrote...
Listening to the fans is why we have ME3 and DA2 am I only one who sees that. BioWare did't need any input for DAO. So no don't listen to the fans these people are clueless all of them ,
