Hello dear Mass Effect friends,
since I like how detailed Bioware is about the realisation of the game, I was quite fond of the Codex-Entries. Problem is, I simply don't like reading on the computer.
Does anyone out there know, if there's a printable PDF available for the complete Codex of ME3? I found the one for ME2, but several entries are missing.
Greetings
Mass Effect 3 Codex.pdf?

A physical codex in the form of a hardback or paperback book.
I'd buy it.
I'd buy it.

Okay, if there's nothing like this existent, I'll make the effort to copy and paste that stuff from the mass effect wiki to an ordinary PDF for printing. Just send me a pm if you want that PDF!

I've been thinking of creating this recently, actually, alongside my ME Dissertation.

It's done! Since I took all of the codex entries from the mass effect wiki, I had to do it manually. Did delete the codex entries which existed twice (mostly, if you find any twice in the PDF, pls tell me) and gave it a nice look. If you have any recommendations, pls let me know!
If you wanna have it, I'll upload it and post the link here.

FYI, the Mass Effect Datapad app on iPhone/iPad has all the ME3 codex, voiced too!

While I appreciate the effort, I'm not sure it's very palatable. It's just a congested wall of text. In the same way it did with my Mass Effect Dissertation eBook, better formatting and the inclusion of media would benefit this a great deal.

Okay thanks for the feedback. But what are your thoughts on better formatting and media exactly?
I'm willing to implement your ideas.
@aerowars: It's meant to be a printable version, since I guess there are more people like me, who would like to have a hardcopy (reading on the pc is much more exhausting, in my opinion).

It's only a suggestion, MäD84. I'd suggest tinkering around with it, finding something that works. I completely agree that a hard copy printable version is fantastic, and I think you should keep working on it.

I wonder, are the information added to the codex with each game or are some things left out from previous games in ME3 if they happened only in ME1?
like codex entry about a planet we visited
I mean if I want to read through the whole codex, do I have to read codex from ME1, from ME2 and from ME3 or is everything covered in ME3 codex?

@bboynexus: Well, since you told me, it's like a wall of text, I'm now looking forward to get some recommendations. My own ideas were to implement the pictures from each coedex entry, for a more distinguished look of it. The formatting could be changed also, but I havent got any ideas towards this direction right now.
@jancz89: I took the codex from the mass effect wiki page. They got the most recent updates i guess. Also they got an entry, if something has changed from e.g. ME2 to ME3 and also display paragon and renegade choices effecting the development of the storyline.

No problem, Jan from Czech Republic
Well, what do you other guys think? Should the codex include pictures for each entry and what are your suggestions for a better formatting?

Any updates on this effort. I, like many Android users, got the shaft from BioWare.
Now that the codex is on the web in a sort-of usable format, can it be web downloaded in HTML format with pictures, etc?

I learned that if you are a 'IGN insider' (i.e. a paying subscriber to the IGN website) you can download lots of useful material for games. That includes walkthoughs and such, but more importantly; they claim you can download a codex in pdf for ME, from this url http://www.ign.com/w...load_PDF_Guide. If anyone here is a IGN insider, could they confirm this?
Wikipedia has this functionality that gives you the ability to merge numerous articles into a book, as they call it. The articles are then put into a single file, which can be of pdf or epub format, for instance. Only if this functionality could be implemented into mass effect wikia as well...
Also, I noticed while researching that BioWare has posted a version of the ME3 codex on one of their webpages. It's identical to the interface provided in the game, though.

I'd love a hardback of that too. They'd just need to be sure to include the entries that DLC added (such as info on Leviathan, etc). And also include more images of the subject each entry talks about to justify being the size of a hardback book (I'm thinking as large in terms of height and width but not as thick as the ME Trilogy Artbook)
Right now the closest we have is the now outdated codex that was included in the ME1 Collector's Edition
