Hi everyone,
i need some help. i've just finished bg1, and thanks
to BGT, i've been carried over to the beginning of bg2 automatically.
unfortunately, I'm stuck! I'm in irenicus prison, in the cage. the golem
comes and speaks to irenicus, who teleports away, and then... NOTHING!
i'm just waiting there like a fool.
Does anyone have a solution for me?

Imoen should come & unlock the cage. She didn't get chunked in BG1 did she?

I can well understand that it would, but if so, why doesn't Biff the Understudy open the cage?

I suspect Biff is only ready to go in cases where the main character could be killed in the original game - this is not the case with Imoen in vanilla BG2.

I agree Biff would make an excellent stand-in, but this condition would require coding in BGT, which I assume has not been done?
I assume that the relevant scripting has already run, and failed, so consoling in Imoen probably won't fix it. Simplest is probably to enable the console and Ctrl-J out of the cage.

the problem has been resolved, it was due to some component of BG2 tweak pack ( "faster cut-scenes chapter 1&2") which is not compatible with BGT.

He comes in if somebody has to say something, and there is nobody to say it. Like one of the dukes in the palace being webbed or suchlike. I thought it quite an amusing way of keeping the game running. Of course, in BG2 Biff is a character in his own right, but something similar could and should have been done in BGT particularly with Imoen being so critical to the plot. If Imoen chunked THEN etc.
Using vanilla or Tutu there is no problem.
In this game you could possibly use the mod that makes imoen a conjurer and put imoen10.cre in the override folder.
Then use the clua console to create her. Just an idea. Don't know if it would work.
Without having Imoen nin the party, I can foresee further problems arising if you just use Ctrl J.
