Transfer Troubles

I actually just started a new game of Origins, and I recalled a problem I had on earlier playthroughs with Origins when I transferred to awakening, golems of amgurak, or witch hunt.  That problem was that Starfang and my Warden Commander armor kept disappearing.  The post game offers no explanation for why it kept disappearing.  Sure, it came from a DLC, but you'd think that awakening would have gotten an update to allow it in eventually, particularly the armor.  I can see the weapon conceivably getting stolen between the games, but the armor?  That seems a bit farfetched to me.  Anyway, since I have been playing Dragon Age two mostly until recently, it's been a long while since I last tried to load a character into those three expansions, so perhaps this problem has already been addressed, but I just thought I'd put it out there to get done if it hasn't been, or at least to get some reason why it hasn't.  I play on the xbox 360.

On a side note, I have spent hours in the deep roads reloading to fight the hired goons near the entrance to Caridin's Crossing, and haven't seen a single Ceremonial gloves turn up.  The wiki says these guys are supposed to drop it, and it's the only place to get it, bbut I can't get it to drop.  Is it broken on the Xbox 360?  Has anyone ever gotten it?  I had this problem on another earlier playthrough too, and eventually gave up, but I like collecting the whole sets, lol.

I'm afraid the issue with Starfang and the Warden Commander armor still exists.

EDIT. From what I've just read on the internet, it would seem that Starfang not importing has nothing to do with it being DLC since certain other DLC import just fine. There reason it doesn't import is because it was never intended to, as there are better weapon's to be had in Awakening.

Well, that sucks.  I just don't get why they wouldn't release a patch for Awakening or for the warden's Keep DLC itself to remedy this problem.  A mean, if you load into Golems of Amgurak or witch hunt from awakening you lose your special sword that Wade made for you in awakening, but that is the only item you lose, and it's explained in the epiloque that the sword was stolen, so it's understandable.  There's no such explanation to go with Starfang and the Warden Commander Armor set.  I mean, we can transfer over Cailan's armor and Marics sword and shield, which is acquired via a DLC (Return to Ostegar) so why not Starfang and WC armor?  Now that I think about it, I think just about every DLC item is transferable except for gifts and non-character-specific items, like Shale's crystals.  Anyway, why would Warden's Keep be the only DLC that has it's unique items being non-transferable?  It's rather inconsistant.

Edit - And I know that there are better weapons in Awakening, but Starfang looks awesome, lol.  And as I said, it's just weird that Warden's Keep is the only DLC that has non-transferable items.  Also all the armor that Mikael sells is non-transferable, even though it's no better then ordinary armor.

I completely agree; I love that sword. As for why they wouldn't allow them to transfer; I believe one of the DEV's said it would cost Bioware too much money......Which sounds like a bit of a cop out to me, because as you said RTO items are transferable.

Adding to this question, I actually realized I collected a rare and fairly powerul shield in one of my characters called the Warden Tower shield. After a little research, I found that I acquired it from Warden's Keep DLC, so does that mean it wont transfer either?

Unfortunatey, yes it does. Anything from the Warden's Keep with not transfer.
