I'm not a big fan of DLCs. I want the full game to be included in the game I buy. I'm open to buying full-length expansions, but having gear, an extra companion or short quest isn't worth shelling out money. Seriously, I am hard-pressed to ever want to get MotA or Legacy. I really like CDPR's concept of free new content to keep the fan base happy and growing. HOWEVER, we know that you want to make money, EA/Bioware, so how about creating more collectibles and gear that we'd actually want? I'm sure that there is a huge # of fans that'd love to get some cool collectibles/toys, especially if DA3 blows the competition out of the water.
So far, what we've seen in the Bioware store is mainly lithos and clothing with weird designs on it. Honestly, I'm not going to pay much for paper. As an adult female, I do not want to plaster game characters on my wall (unless it's for my kid). The clothing IMHO is suitable for maybe a 12-year old boy. The short stint at selling figurines did interest me, but it was in such a limited edition and you never created anymore series. Why not all the companions???? Other than perhaps the glorified letter opener, I do not see anything I'd want to buy. But, why not have things like:
- collector's edition of DA3 with neat hardcopies of stuff. Stuff like: Map of Thedas, a little book of Anders' manifesto, Flemeth's Grimoire, the DA2 symbol pendant, the Joining chalice, Mabari squeezetoy (courtesy Anders' Thread talk)......
- realistic detailed figurines (artisan not toy stuff)
- some in-game clothing (Morrigan's cowl, Merrill's scarf, Varric's coat)
- DA-inspired jewellery (headbands, earrings, necklaces, rings)
- plushies (Ser Pounce-a-Lot, Mabari Hound, ogre, darkspawn, griffon, some of the companions).
- temporary tattoos
- toys that glow blue like lyrium
- small toy figurines of the abominations
- small dollhouse sized models of buildings in the games
- some less "obvious" t-shirts (no childish cartoons)
- notebooks with paper/cover like the ones seen in the game
- Feastday gift/pranks collectibles
- notebook sleeves with artistic dragons
- sheet music of soundtrack (can't recall any catchy melodic tunes, though)
- little toy swords/staves
- Halloween costumes
- makeup kit with appropriate character colours
- calendar with DA images and perhaps embedded with the Thedas calendar (sort of like Gregorian/lunar calendars that show both dates)
- normal clothing but with color scheme of companions (Morrigan's purple, Isabela's blue, Anders' green) or "in the style of" a companion.... not for cosplay or costume-like, but evoking a similar style
- LEGO
Personally, I'd love to have some modestly-priced figurines or plushies, and if the collectibles in the collector's edition are interesting, the collector's edition of the game. I'd be more willing to dish out on that rather than on DLCs. Shipping would also have to be reasonable (extremely prohibitive now). The list is endless and of course one can't possibly produce all this stuff. But I think there is demand for a little more broader scope in your store, especially for the older gamer and females.

The topic of collectibles was touched upon in the June question of the month.
I'm still hoping for a Golden/Black City snowglobe. But I don't mind DLC. I thoroughly enjoyed both Legacy and Mark of the Assassin.

Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaah, no. If they want my money, DLC is the way to do it. It's something I'll actually use. With the exception of the Mabari Hound plush, which I would totally buy, everything else is just clutter.
If they did get rid of DLC, which isn't gonna happen, you'd just be getting the base game. You wouldn't be getting the extra content for free, it would just never exist.

A physical version of the soundtrack (not digital download), A t-shirt, A figure, an art book... Is that asking too much?

The collectible stuff that comes in a CE typically isn't really of interest to me, and I am honestly not interested in any other merchandise outside of the game itself (and maybe any ancillary books/comics), so any additional money that comes from me is buying DLC.
All of their games have been good games on their own, the DLC doesn't make the core game better or worse. However, I really would miss having reasons to revisit those game worlds while also getting new content; without DLC I rarely pick a game back up after the first six months.

I love physical items and gladly take them over DLC.
I'm also one of those crazy people who will fork out hundreds of dollars for cheaply manufactured game stuff that comes with the CEs of games.
More physical CE stuff please! And an actual CD of the music - compressed audio sounds like rubbish on decent systems.

DLCs are here to stay and I don't mind them; DA2 had great story DLCs, hopefully they'll make more of these for DA3.
Having said that I'd totally buy some physical collectibles: lithos, artbooks, soundtracks, cloth maps and possibly even statues.
Haven't bought a Bioware statue yet 'cause they're horrid, but a great-looking statue would seriously tempt me, no matter the cost.

As geeky as I am, I don't think I would buy any of those things you listed. The only way to get more money out of me is to come out with a good/beefy expansion.

It doesn't work that way. If they have another outlet for income, they will simply add it to existing sources. They won't sacrifice one pile of cash for another.
Like ME, you can expect collectibles, DLCs and MP microtransactions.

I don't want to sacrifice content additions for merchandise. I do however want better DA-themed merchandise, I own almost nothing DA-related but got several ME-themed stuff around the house. That Flemeth statue was golden I suppose, but a tad outside my price range =)

I wish for more Dragon Age action figures! I bought the whole first wave and, save for a broken Morrigan, was pretty damn happy with the assortment.

I don't think that producing merchandise is something that will keep game developers employed. Producing DLC does a much better job of that.

I'm a sucker for merchandise.
When I see something like that, I just have to buy it. Don't ask me how much money I've thrown outta the window that way...:'(
(Especially plushies. Oh god, plushies. I'd buy them all if I could.)

You know, BioWare could just be awesome and make both great DLCs for people who want more game and make awesome collectibles for those who like them as well. Make it happen BioWare.
