Can't Shadow Strike Atlas (Post Patch). Bug or Intentional?

Just played my first game after the patch. I noticed you can no longer shadow strike an Atlas. Is this intentional or is it a bug? I have not tested if this is the case for Geth Primes and Banshees yet.

Edit: Only applies to Atlas, not Primes or Banshees.

Here is BioWare's response:

We are aware of and are tracking this issue, this was unfortunately introduced by our most recent patch.

Atlas cant be shadow striked - Was infact introduced by the patch

Edit: 4th Dec, Any further update on this? Does it require a patch to fix?

Just played a match with a friend, he was saying the same thing. Hope it's not intentional!

Edit: If it is intentional, I'd guess it's so Shadows can't massively abuse the exhaust port weakness on the Atlas. That's if SS actually hits the exhaust port... Hmmmm. I'm just guessing, admittedly.

+1 to this issue. Seems ridiculous that it'd be intentional that we just can't attack one enemy on purpose. SS works on every other enemy.

I knew they'd manage to break something with the patch.

I had the SS lock up a few times going for geth primes, but it was still possible most of the time.

So I guess it's just the Atlas then.

It's a giant piece of steel, makes sense actually. Then again, normal melee attacks do work.

The official explanation will be:

It's intentional as Atlases main objective is to block escape routes, with SS you could avoid that.

It'd make perfect sense if a flaming electric sword striking against a hulking metal death machine did precisely nothing. It makes no sense that the option to try that simply isn't there.

Any explanation they can give to justify it will be an absolute joke while phantoms can still supermurder a battle armored krogan with one ninjato attack.

If this was broken in the process of fixing 100 other things, I'll happily heavy melee/shoot the atlas from now on.

For some reason, I believe this is their answer. Unless it is an actual bug.

So far, there have been two responses to bugs: radio silence and "yeah, that was a mistake".

They may not be communicating as much as you'd like, but I can't recall any instances of BW actually lying to us.

It's just annoying though when you are trying to SS something close to an Atlas, but because it is so big the reticule targets it. You end up just spamming SS, until you target something else.

Oh I didn't mean to take away from the fact that it could be an annoying bug.  I would like to see this fixed sooner rather than later myself.  There will be plenty of new stuff for me to try now while they work on this one in the meantime.

Ha, if it is not intentional then I am ok with it anyway. I play the shadow a lot and its easy to get a bunch of unearned points by SS an atlas when its down to one bar of armor from across the map - I don't do that but I have seen shadows who do do that.

Btw, anyone who has tested the new SS,does the power damage still apply as well as the new application of rank 6 of sword mastery?

Yeah, I noticed this problem :o
I rationalised it as lag or being on a small map (Glacier)... I don't recall it being as issue before though.
