Btw, anyone who has tested the new SS,does the power damage still apply as well as the new application of rank 6 of sword mastery?

Having not changed my build (with rank 6 SM Armour damage), I seemed to be doing less damage to enemies with shields and armour e.g. not OHK'ing Cerberus turrets - but I think I was doing more damage against just armour e.g. Brutes.

This isn't very scientific, sorry.

I think power damage does still apply. I definitely noticed OHK phantoms without gear, using the 50% Shield damage bonus. Wasn't able to do this consistantly before the patch, so it is definitely improved.

Thanks.  I am going to test this today.   With my current build, I can one-hit-kill phantoms on gold with these consumables:

Power  damage IV, Strength Enhancer III, Haudralic Joints V, and the melee mod on the weapon.  - The phantom dies from dot after about one second.  I never could one-hit kill turrets if they had full shields on Gold anyway before.

Also to the TO, I noticed last night that I was unable to SS a Gold Atlas sometimes - so maybe you just have not tried enough. Is it 100% stopped now?

To all those saying that it makes sense to not be able to Shadow Strike an Atlas, in all fairness, in lore they have a monomolecular blade, which is supposed to be capable of cutting through basically anything, including metal.

If they're seriously going to make it intentionally so that you can't Shadow Strike an Atlas, it's only fair to make it so a Phantom can't insta-kill a Krogan.

Either do it right, or don't do it at all. If this is intentional and not a glitch, then either change it back, or remove the N7 Shadow entirely.

On Silver, I started getting 2HK's on Brutes with cloaked SS. Flaming sword (armor) seems to work perfectly. Could probably up that with post-kill damage boost, but there are a lot of OHK's going on in Silver. Seems the Sword Mastery ranks have been fixed, so that much is a plus.

@Matthias King: Being that it's not in the release notes at all, it's probably not an intentional thing. They're pretty upfront about nerfing stuff.

The official explanation will be:

It's intentional as Atlases main objective is to block escape routes, with SS you could avoid that.

This is probably it and that person who showed the video showing them mak a miraculous escape from sure doom by shadowing two atlas's proved it.

- Can now shoot the Atlas’ exhaust port on his back for an extra 40% weapon damage.
Thats the only thing about Altas damage in the patch.
Weapon damage not melee damage so surely we should be able to SS it?!

One would hope so, but they've done a lot of 'ninja' balance changes too, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if they didn't tell us about this one, or other ones for that matter.

Great point. Must have been some type of bug introduced with the new weakspot.

I sincerely hope it's a bug- they can nerf SS's effectiveness against Atleses, I guess, but they can't take away the option entirely! As sad as it is, I often SS Atlases to get out of a sticky situation! Does anyone know if BW has confirmed this as a bug or as intentional?

I think I'm actually just fine with it. Shadow happens to be the only class I've ever been grabbed by an Atlas with... and it was usually because I was trying to SS it. If you can do more damage to every single other enemy in the game, even if it is still bugged (and I'm not saying it is), I still think it's definitely a good tradeoff anyhow. If it is a bug, you can only hope it will be fixed sooner or later. In any case, it sounds like this class just got even more powerful... so I'm cool with that.

Well it's a monofilament blade. They're supposed to cut through mostly anything no?

Jeez, I wish we could get the official line on this character i.e. what ranks affect what powers exactly.

SS is like the least effective way to kill an atlas, so a bigger question is why would you SS an atlas except for the fact its kinda funny?

To escape trough the path an Atlas is blocking? To shoot it in the back for 40% damage after SS?

You should be able to spec SS to do 10+ k damage to armor or shields ... Not necessarly the least effective way ...

It's also not hard for SS to do more damage than the weapons you'd put on a Shadow. Anyway, it just doesn't make any sense, the move has never depended on whether you could damage the target or not. That would be like making your gun not fire if you're pointing it at a wall. SS also goes though walls and across the map, the Shadow shouldn't have mobility restrictions. Hopefully this is just a bug which can be fixed.

We are aware of and are tracking this issue, this was unfortunately introduced by our most recent patch.

your 1st mistake is getting trapped by an atlas then lol.
the 40% just took effect so people who have been doing it the past 2 months can't claim that excuse. I can't tell you how many times i've seen random shadows SS a banshee and get OHK, a brute and get downed, an atlas and get downed.

Sure you can do it, doens't make it smart though lol

Lol awe shucks. Good luck trying to track it down.

Stupid bugs... :( It's like, you nuke them with a patch, and what do you know, out of the rubble some stupid cockroach is like "WOO SMELLS GOOD OUT HERE." If only you could patch in a large boot.
