You can break up with miranda and she lives, but you do it by saying that you'll always want her to be a part of your life, and then locking in a different relationship before you meet her on the citadel in the apartment.

And then I feel like I lied/cheated on poor Miranda, which I don't want to do (but totally did last time I played a mirimance. Sigh...)

Well, pretty much like the date of Ash/Shepard. Quite nice place, talking. In some fields both women simply want the same - and that's some time with Shepard without hums of the Normandy. Guess so ^^

Nah, seriously: isn't Shepard Miranda's "love of her life"? She surely wants more than sex in the engine room or some random apartment

That would be quite cheesy in a story about war, but outside of that I can actually imagine that pretty well. 

I think Rachel had some nice fan-art from both of them in evening dresses at some sort of party. That's working.

Most of Miranda's big moments with Shepard actually occur in private discussion. That's why I was befuddled by something that Ashley has.

Uhh, Taboo - you know Ash from ME1, right?
In case you don't, youtube is your friend - you can go through the entire romance without playing the game.

If you know ME1 and romanced Ash, you should know that Shepard and Ashley had tons of private discussions - and some of them felt quite "big".

Miranda's private discussions appear quite late and you get a big chunk even without romancing her. That always gave me the idea that she and Shepard could be really good friends even without that romance. Kinda disappointing that friendship didn't play much of a role in ME3. Same for Ash. Well, guess that third part of the series is the same for us both: disappointing. Two great characters - damaged.

Ashley is not the same as Miranda, that's something you clearly already (DUUUUUUH) know but still.

Well, I didn't say Miranda and Ashley are the same.
They just share several traits. And in some way, their romances feel similar, driven by desire and dropped in the long run, thanks to BW.

The only "complete" romance is blue. Too bad blue's not my favorite color. I'm more into dark hair and eyes, ya know *g*
Still - if BW had added a decent romance arc for Miranda in ME3, I'd go after her as well. They didn't and that makes her romance feeling incomplete. That's why support for a Miranda-romance-DLC - period.

I disagree with CptData. The Ashley romance, though lacking in some content, is very much a complete romance. I wish there was more substantive content, but the romance itself is pretty well done.

Miranda's romance, comparitively, is woefully abandoned/incomplete.

If you ignore the huge gap between "date / lock in romance" and "romantic climax" as "complete", then you're alright.

Well. Miranda's romance didn't even got that, so it's even more screwed. Still better than what had happened with Jacob, but also still disappointing. Especially since Miranda's character got horribly cut to "sister issues" only - which is just ONE of many interesting layers of her original character in ME2.
Same with Ash. 80% of her character got cut and only the annoying distrust-issues are left. Well, and sister issues

I don't think Ashley would get along with Miranda. Miranda would probably be calm and say a few snarky comments but she'd be the better person to hold her tongue, I'd think.

I was looking forward to those two meeting but alas, we know how Ashley feels about Miranda as evidence from the hospital bed. Talk about jealousy.

I wanted my Shepard to **** Ashley out but I made him go the "I don't know" route. I liked some of those lines about him telling her she dumped him but I didn't like the opening line of him wanted to get back with her. No... I was a bit renegade with Ashley on mars too but I did buy her the book.

You have no idea what "sister issues" is until you've been in the mirithreads. 

And I liked Ashley's sister thing.  Her sister lost her husband, Ashley was there for her.  It was one well-done scene that fit the narrative of the game.  It's not like she sat out the war over it...

I would rather celebrate that she's okay and what we have. I mean, she could have left Shepard regardless. She'd have looked like a true temptress in that scenario.

Instead she turns out to be the most reliable of all the ME2 LIs and one of the most dedicated.

That's a victory in my book.

Couldn't have said it better myself. You can see based on her words in the first conversation how much she missed him while he was incarcerated.

maaaaaayyyyybeee the bottom lip just a touch, but really they look fine to me.

The top lip is perfectly proportioned IMO.
