Missing epilogue ?

Hi,

I've already finished the game three times (I'm an epilogue junkie) with three different endings and three very different game pathes (kudos to Bioware btw).

However, my epilogue (the one starting after you open the gates) seem to be incomplete in comparison to what I can see and read in those forums or websites.

My epilogues always mention the different parties (like "Anora was a wilfull queen", "Harrowmont got assassinated", "people grew wary of the Dalish", "the dwarf girl finished her studies at the tower circle", whatever).

But I never get any epilogue based on my companions. From what I gathered, there should be something about Sten going back to his clan, Oghren causing trouble or Allistair ending up drunk. But I get nothing. The only character I have news about in the epilogue is Morrigan and her baby (if dark-ritualed). Nothing more.

I thought it was linked to doing my companions' quests and so I did all of them, but still no luck.

Is this normal ? If not, how could I fix it ?

Some of that doesn't appear in the Epilogue. Most of them are learned by talking to your companions in the Great Hall before exiting to trigger the Epilogue sequence.

The one about Alistair ending up drunk only happens if you spared Loghain and made Alistair leave. But it IS part of the epilogue. If you're not getting that in your epilogue, there is something wrong.

But as swk3000 said, a lot of it you can only find by talking before the epilogue.

The fate of Dog is unknown, however. Perhaps he will finally dig through the earth?

Yeah, I got some of that by speaking to them in the great hall.

But I thought (and read (and even watched on youtube IIRC)) that some of those things would appear on the epilogue. What ? No word about Sten, Leliana, Oghren ?

And yes, I spared Loghain and made Alistair leave - to no avail in the epilogue. Seems just bugged.

Sten, Oghren, Leliana, Wynne and Shale will all tell you what they intend to do afterwards if you talk to them in the Great Hall. This was also not part of the epilogue for me.

I don't know what it depends on, I guess certain things you do during the game, but there is mention of some of your party members in the screenshot epilogue. I have gotten references to Anora ruling, a drunk man saying he used to be Grey Warden and how Alistair's name was used in a coup attempt, Leilana leading a party to protect the urn of Andraste's ashes...

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

Take Leliana for instance, I did her quest with Marjolaine, asked her in the Great Hall what she would do nowand she said she would look for the ashes... but nothing about her attempt in the epilogue.

It's galling.

Some people say that you can get the two girls from Redcliffe in the epilogues, and even though I've given them both the maximum money twice I've never seen a mention of them in the epilogue.

If you put Bella in charge of the tavern while Lloyd fights, she stays in charge and gets mentioned in the Epilogue. If you convince Kaitlyn's brother Bevin to give you the key to the chest upstairs, then return the blade after the attack, they also show up in the Epilouge. At least, that's what I hear.

I may be wrong, but I think it may be that you have to have Leilana in your party when you get the ashes, which I know I had.

From what I've seen of my playthroughs, the companions' epilogues are either mentioned in detail if you go for ultimate sacrifice via the last screen presentation or are gathered from the companions by talking to them if you are alive. I've never gotten their detailed epilogues if my character lived past the archdemon... wonder if it is intended or a bug.

If you survive the final battle you get hints of what your companions are going to do in the future by talking to them in the great hall, but you don't get any epilogue blurbs.

If you die killing the archdemon you get the funeral scene with no companion interaction, but you get epilogue blurbs telling you what each of your companions do after your death.

OMG.
Now that makes sense.
Thanks a lot for these answers, I'll try it out !

What frustrates me about the ending is that afterwards you can only play the downloadable content. I would like to at least be able to go back and complete sidequests.

Anybody else unhappy about that?

I'm pretty sure I didn't have her in my party, and she still said she was going to guard the ashes. I'm 90% sure that I had Alistair, Morrigan and my dog, but that was about 20 gaming hours ago so maybe I'm wrong and it was Leliana.

Odd. I never got a great hall scene or a coronation scene, both of which I see mentioned in the forum. I did get epilogues, but these aren't saved anywhere for me to go back and read. I find that the most annoying thing of all. (this is actually what I've been searching to find, but without success.) Guess I'll have to rekill the archdemon each time?

I'm not particularly interested in the downloadable content after the end. I have several new stories to play through.

Only solved this once but I got all the info by talking to my party members (that stayed) and in the epilogue. I did do the dark ritual and did allow Logain to live. However, everyone of my companions had a "warm" or better opinion of me. Perhaps that has something to do with it.
