That's well done. Four days is enough time for me to get excited, but not bored or impatient.

What impresses me most is that they managed to keep a patch with such a prodigious amount of content under wraps so well. This must have been worked on for at least three months; probably more given the sheer scale of the new resources to be added to the game. And yet there was no huge leaks about it.

Yeah, everybody was so focused on the oncoming patch, the weekly balance changes plus the Operation Weekend coming up, this DLC just kinda came out of nowhere (at least for me). Nice distraction BioWare

Anyone know about the weapon mods we did not receive from last DLC though? I thought they were said to be coming out in a patch or something..

Something I just thought of, these new effects on maps, does this give an actual reason for salarians being able to breathe under water?
It's stated in the From Ashes DLC conversations (by Liara in response to Javik's comments about the lizard people evolving) aboard the Normandy that Salarians are amphibious.

firebase white with some snow background at 0:44
firebase giant with thunders at 1:07(also later we see cannons shooting)
firebase ghost raining at 1:09
firebase glacier full of bugs
firebase dagger with harbinger and a sandstorm in the background.
not like they will have an impact in the gameplay but they are very cool!

Well Collector's are already in the game. At least the basic Collector soldier / troopers are. (In the From Ashes DLC, several are seen.) Many things are held over from ME2 as that's what they started with. ME2's base code. The game has all kinds of hidden gems in it. Eclipse and Blue Suns outfits for example. Even armors from ME1 are present in the game. There is a Battlefield 3 single player armor that uses a totally different texture map than the multiplayer one, etc. ME1 had additional hidden Cerberus weapons, etc. These games have a lot of hidden treasures. It's possible some or even most of the Collector assets were already there. Granted many of these assets we see in the trailer are different from ME2's Collector's, but we don't know when the changes were made.
They could have been made for a Collector oriented mission or content that was never finished or scrapped before the game was released. Thing is, they could have leaked the information about other DLC's to throw us off about this one which seems like the largest update for the multiplayer game yet. And even then, there have been rumors for week's about a new faction popping up in the next MP DLC.
Many people said Blue Suns, or Eclipse Mercs, but I predicted the Collectors. It's what I wanted to see and what I thought made the most sense from a story perspective and as a faction in multiplayer. Since mercenaries, etc. shouldn't align with the Reapers and they wouldn't be all that interesting compared to Cerberus or Alliance / Allied forces. I always thought it strange that we could have wiped them out so easily via Shepard's actions in ME2.
Vega even points to Cerberus having agents working with the Collector's in ME3's single player game. (Which I found odd at the time.) And all multiplayer content has some connection to the single player story. In MP we essentially hit areas Shepard already hit for the most part and try to hold it from enemy forces. In MP you fight the battles that are talked about by Admiral Hackett. In fact your galactic readiness score effects what Admiral Hackett says when questioned about the state of the war effort at multiple points in the game. Furthermore Counselor Tavos or the other chick if she's dead will remark that Geth forces still remain regardless of the outcome of that situation on Rannoch and that they are just Geth bodies running Reaper code. The events on Horizon explain missing humans in the third game and how Cerberus could have such a large military force given the rather small size of Cerberus as a whole, as reported by EDI when questioned in ME2.
In the single player game, the mercs are united under Aria, and thus Commander Shepard's cause. So to me nothing but the Collector's made any sense. It was the logical choice for a new faction. And I'll make some predictions as well. I'll bet that we'll see Blue Suns, Eclipse Mercs, and Blood Pack themed characters in multiplayer in the future which will fill out those 16 new character class slots BioWare talked about. Again it only makes sense.
And mark my words, we will see Collector's in the single player game at some point in the near future. It makes sense. The work was done on them already and it only makes sense to include them in the SP game. It's a new enemy and enemy variety in ME3 is sorely lacking compared to ME2. It wouldn't make sense for them to be in the game and for Shepard NOT to hear about it at some point.

And the new weapons, the updated map types, the customization....Its just what I was hoping for!
Thank you Bioware! The best part is I only have to wait 5 days... as opposed to a month or something.

My favorite faction comes to bow before me I like it. Still wish I could play as a Collector though. They look so cool in my opinion.
