We've been hearing about the '2012 Apocalypse' for a while now, and as the History Channel often likes to remind us, the date is fast approaching.
Whether or not you believe it or not, what will you be doing on the predicted date of the apocalypse?
In addition, what, if anything, do you believe will happen on the date?
Personally, I don't have much faith in the 'phrophecy', but there is still a small part of me that takes solace in the fact that on the off-chance some form of apocalypse happens, that since it falls around the holiday season, at least I'll be with my family.

What will happen on that date? The sun will rise, people will go about their business (probably a lot of them will be doing gift shopping), the sun will set and a few hours later a new day will begin.

I really have no stock in the Mayan predictions, however many experts and even Nasa is saying the period of 2013-27 will not be a good one. High chance of global War (greater than in the Cold War in fact), Civil War in the States, an even harder economic downturn, revolutions and revolts. Plus the Sun may (more likely than not, by 70%) according to Nasa and other global space agencies will see a huge jump in solar flare activity from 2013 till abound 2020-30. Which depending on chance really might just desrupt satcom (IE forget those smart phones) or screw up huge parts of the power grid for years at a time. Reguardless tempature growth will happen from it and all the lovely effects that come with it.
Reguardless the revolution will come comrades! Be it at the hands of our own stupidity or a Mayan bird god coming to smite us.

Then if I am alive, taking into consideration I did not suffocate and the world did not end, I will wake up in a few hours and get ready for work.

The thing with all this Endzeit predictions they exist as long as civilization exists.
From my point of view the post modern times will fail cause they brought humanity into a state of mind where communication is meaningless.
All this reboots and sequels are proof of not more existing creativity. Maybe humanity is on its quadrillions reboot, who knows.
Back in 2000 all peops where afraif of the Nostradamus prediction. In 1666 the Englishmen thought the end will come, cause of the devilish number in their anno domini. Well some black death and fire in london where all they got.
But with everthing and everyone connected, and cameras everywhere on the streets (public phones, ATMs and so on), the only thing you can do is to not fit into the masses by bein a freak.
I have only a crap old cell to not have internet while i am on the streets. I dress like i am broke and have headphones for mind bubble from this morons.
Watchin good movies (even now sometimes good where made), reading comics and playing games (new and old) is what kept my mind occupied. Well and booze and cigs.
