Well considering they keep pushing back the date every time they 'miscalculate' I'll either be already dead because the October date proved right, or I'll be shopping for xmas gifts last minute and waiting for the Dec 31st end of the world.

Oh no these arn't predictions. The actions of the West in recent years plus events in Poland and the South China Sea have put NATO, Russia, the US, and China on edge. Plus the push of proxy states and recent events in Libya, Iran, and Syria, has costed both Russian and China Billions of dollars, as the Libyans have kept the funds and have turned around and ****d the contracts out to the West. In fact if you look at Russian news sites, the retrothic coming out of there is about how it was in the Cold War. And on the Chinese end middle class nationalism is on the rise to the extent a paper published in PLA Daily gave a cryptic warning that bowing to the west is what lead to the uprising and destruction of China's last dynasty. In fact the whole "human rights" is openly seen as an attempt to crush Chinese and Russian investment in Iran and Syria. More so after Libya. And partially its true. If not largely.

Plus the events in the middle east, rise of militant Islam, the worsening relations in the region given US drone strikes, even wikileaks is causing trouble. Its wealth of information has lead to it being classified as an enemy of the State by the US military. And some of those documents have worsend relations with Russia and other powers by proving USAID was funding terrorist groups on orders of the CIA.

Take into account resource grabs, revolutions in South America, Afirca, and the Mid East (resource rich regions) and attempts to close the Chinese and Russians in, and to an extent India, Iran, and Venuzuala, its a tinder box. Most finacial experts also forsee the falling apart of the EU this Winter, or at least it being reduced to Northern Europe, France, and Germany. Tensions on the Korean front are also leading to high points, sooner or later the back talk and one side stepping of will break. And the US in its worry of geo-political stability would rather it happend sooner. Given Russia and China both are conducting large naval build ups with the Chinese in fact having 6 JFK sized Carriers being laid down currently. And Russian 6 as well. With officers in both nations pushing for a full military Pact, they could by 2017-24 fully equal the US Navy. Something that its not happy about. Missile Defense has also cut the throat of MAD and left it a relic of the past opening the door for brinksmenship once more. Plus US arrogance at having no rival for the last decade doesn't help matters.

On the Sun Front. Its not a prediction the instruments have picked it up, heck its happening now. The main question now is the extent of the damage and the ability to cope. Will it "just" screw up all our satelites? And with it the wireless network. Or will it cause heavy EMP damage to huge portions of the globe with full ellectronic black outs for years at a time? A paragmatic approache is being taken by many governments currently to deal with this problem. Namely ensuring key areas stay with power. Or in the case of the Chinese large portions of the grid is being moved underground. Billions of dollars are being invested in this task. Reguardless of what happens unless we are very lucky it will mean a technilogical reset.

On the same footnote billions of dollars from the worlds richest have been locked away in accounts as of late, over worry of what they see as an impending (if not self created and serving) finacial meltdown. Reguardless with the Sun issues Tempatures will climb heavily and naturally aided to levels that will place strains on various regions, plus a number of geological issues on the horrizon.

In the case of a number of Nation states, praticularly the US the rise in anti goverment groups (many of which are armed and radicalized) have jumped massively these last few years. The US in fact is devided on almost every issue and militants are found in every shape and form. Even the cultures are conflicting. Disagreements turn violent at some point.

These issues when combined are a sure sign of massive war and hardships. Hardly world ending however. World WMD stockpiles have gotten so low to ensure that. Hard times. Life threatening times where the rule of the sword will hold sway once more. Still not the Mayan prediction.

The human race hasn't been able in its thousands of years to solve its problems peacefully. And that won't change now. More so as a large portion of the "global body" see's the UN as a puppet of the West.

All of this can easily been seen by a google search, or looking at a multitude of national news sites. People are angry. And you can't push but so much or so hard. As an edit, the Future by its nature isn't predictable, unforseen events might change all of this, or it could be word for word true.

Make light of Serious matters. Make Serious of light matters.

You are right Red on many things.

But that won't be the end of the human race if it happens. Just a major change in civilization. Which wouldn't be something which should happen long time ago.

There where some jokes about it in films. Like Snake Plisken hitting the world code into his remote. Or futurama's and Babylon 5's take, that humanity will go into a new middle age, later rebuilding to a new and more peaceful society.

Latest media is more about a believe of a Mr. Cruise, while on the same bashin him for his.

All this ancient Astronaut thing.
The movie is called Prometheus. Goethe, in his 'Sturm and Drang' years while in heavy contact with Schiller had a poem about Prometheus, the god who gave Humanity the fire.
He was revolting about the nobels back than, cause he himself was of humble birth.

Revolts always happens. And to be honest, i dun like what humanity has become. For 3 months now i dun listen to tv news. So no german news shows.
Which doesn't mean i am in a bubble. Quite the contary. I have internet (who whould have thunk xD ). And I see what my country is doing here. It is worth than I first thought. In my town, new shopping centres are built with money we dun have. Old and well known shops have to close, cause rents are too high.

On the world politics. There is loadz of things happening. Japan lost his credebility cause of 1.5 trillions of debts. There late producers (Korea) are well better established with Samsung and of course the new hype of k-pop which makes young folks wanna be trendie and hip.

China's big carries are makin more money than California in one year and Russia is .. I am just grateful my family moved from there.

-peace

Wait wasn't that like on the 24? Reguardless given sun spot activity in 2013, I plan to do the samething. Wait for the collapse of your puny civilizations so that I will carry the banner of the Great Khan and the world that has forgotten the Golden Horde will soon know the Red Tide as we sweep away the capitilist and the Democracies for glorious Revolution!

From the backs of go carts wearing assless chaps and undies like in road warriors many of you will understand the true meaning of fear.

I, for one, will welcome our new Golden Horde overlords.

Red Shogun is right on many things, like this.
The World has been turning to a huge sh*tstorm since 2001. 2012 is the worst year I've seen in my life.

I'll gather allies and create new Roman (Byzantine) Empire in eastern Europe!
If I were in America, I would join a cult or two ... Cults are necessary for survival in the post-apocalypse situation!
Where I live, I'll just go to walk in a park...

Well the first several hours of that day I'll very likely be sleeping. Maybe one of my extended families' Christmas parties in the cities will be on that day so I might be heading there when I wake up. It's a Friday so I may have to work depending on the week. Actually I should look into that soon in case a Christmas party is on that day because I'll need it off. Never hurts to be proactive and think ahead.

If none of that is the case I'm on my holiday break between semesters so maybe I'll hang out at a friend's place or them at mine. Maybe play videogames if nothing else. You know I have been looking at this new cake recipe so I could plan on trying that out and bring it to my family on Christmas day or eve.

I'll probably be in bed by 10pm to 12am.
